I just finished this game and enjoyed it immensely until the "getting close to the end" bit where all of a sudden
there came just one puzzle after another - without any respite
[ Which I found to be rather a chore frown ]

However, I might play it again at some time because I really liked the rest of it ....

Anyway I've now shamefacedly installed another game from my "unplayed" stack.
It's called Lamplight City and I don't remember even getting it, let alone anything about it !! lol

Anyone played it and can offer an opinion ??

I agree that Hob's Barrow was quite puzzle intensive towards the end, but for some reason (and much to my amazement) I got through the entire thing on my own. That made me feel even more favorably disposed towards the game than I already was, because my getting through an adventure game completely on my own without so much as a hint is almost unheard of.

I have Lamplight City in my GOG purchase history but haven't played it yet.

I haven't played either game yet even though I bought Lamplight City in 2018.

Hi Mad

I played Lamplight City a while ago, and I enjoyed it, from what I remember (its an age thing) there wasnt anything too taxing regarding puzzles, the only other thing I remember is to be very careful when making certain decisions, I had a Youtube walkthrough saved just in case

Cheers
SAFC

Thanks for your response, safc grin And I will make sure to be careful with my decision making !! eek

Thanks also to you, Marian (and oldbroad).
I think, in my old age, my patience for "puzzle after puzzle" has definitely worn a bit thin.
Unlike the days of yore when I absolutely refused help unless in extreme circumstances lol

Can you save and exit the game during the "puzzle after puzzle" stuff or is it really that you are stuck in it doing "puzzle after puzzle"?

As I recall, you can save and exit at any time during the game including this last section of it.

Thanks Marian. That is at least helpful then, if you don't want to deal with a long string of puzzles in a row.
