It’s Florence in 1506, and the Renaissance is in full swing.
Leonardo Da Vinci has been working on a new machine, one that he says
will go beyond anything he has created to date. He is concerned though
about it falling into the wrong hands, which explains the security he has
applied to his house. But he is confident that you will be able to find your
way in, and he trusts you, which is why the message has arrived, and why
you stand on his doorstep looking for a way in.

What awaits you should you gain access is not Leonardo (he is nowhere to be found),
but a game stuffed full of puzzles, almost all linked to contraptions and machines.

Thank you flotsam and Drac, very nice review as usual

This is the type of puzzler I like, "contraptions and machines".

Great review. Sounds right up my street. Could flotsam just explain a bit further what was cumbersome about the interface. Usually this might mean you have to use the keyboard which is an instant no-no for me.

But clearly this isn't the case here as it says it plays with the mouse. Many thanks.

Hi meryl
No keyboard. Lots of double-clicking and holding and dragging the mouse to explore. Drag the scene around you to 'look about' and double click somewhere which might then move you there. Right click to back out, or drag and double click somewhere else. The same goes to zoom in on puzzles. You also mimic various actions, swipe up or down to activate the Oculi, and left and right click to use and examine inventory items.
It just felt unnaturally busy and a bit cumbersome to me, especially when compared to other point and click interfaces.
Hope that helps

It took me some time to get used to the double-clicking to move from one spot to the next.

Hello Flotsam.
Thanks so much for explaining. Yes, I think this would impede my enjoyment of the game .What a shame. Likewise I haven't purchased Incubus because I know all those gadgets would get between me and total immersion in the game. As soon as i have to faff around and think about controls my emotional involvement with the action gets broken (fear, curiosity, anticipation etc)

Your reviews are always so helpful and very much appreciated that you take the time to do this.
