If you like games like Myst and Riven, you should certainly enjoy this. It is more than a few years old, but games and time being what they are, I bought it and then never got round to playing it. I am currently filling in some of that back catalogue, and this came to the top of the pile. I am very glad it did. Quern is an island, or more than one, where in the best interests of such games you find yourself for no readily discernible reason. As you stand and start to clear your head, the sound of the portal closing behind you means you only have one real choice. Which is to explore Quern and start fiddling. Find out more in flotsam's review of ******** Quern: Undying Thoughts ********

Thanks for the great read, flotsam. I actually loved the Myst and Myst-like games, but I was never good at them. I just really loved the solitary feel and eye candy environments. I wish I had more hours in a day to go explore the environments. Thanks, Drac! Ana

Thank you flotsam (and Draclvr) 🙂 An excellent and informative review, flotsam, for a game I did attempt not long after its release but one which I didn’t manage to complete - despite it being a top notch experience Myst type games are just not my forte, sad to say. In fact I only managed to fully complete ONE out of the whole of the Myst series. However, I did have plenty of fun whilst trying 😉

Flotsam I love Myst like games and still replay Myst at least once a year.
Do you know if this game can be played on my IMac computer?

According to Steam, the game runs on Mac. I'm not sure if that is the same as an IMac though. Happy Gaming!

Gerry, it depends on the hardware specs of your iMac. It needs a fairly hefty video card and an integrated graphics card probably won't play it. I'd be glad to look it up for you if you can give me your model number.

The iMac is an "all-in-one computer", no desktop just a monitor with all the hardware built in. I did not know that. If it is an older model it will have trouble running the game at speed but an iMac will run it. Searching for any info on it at the Quern Discussions Board I found these issues and concerns with the iMac running Quern: DiscussionsThis one in particular where some could not get the game to run properly under their specs. The Developer responded: How Long Does it TakeHopefully you have the specs needed to run it Kaki's Sister or close to it where you might be able to adjust the graphics to run it. I hope so

Yes, I know that. That's why I asked for her model number.

I like to keep it simple and start with the basics and then move on to details. We may need to move this part of the discussion to the Tech forum.
