About the only place you can find old XP systems to buy is on Ebay. They are roughly $100 - $125 there.

Can we assume you have tried to run these games in XP compatibility mode on your Vista or Windows 7 computers?

My first thought is that most if not all of my XP games work on my Windows 7 computer, so it seems likely to me that Bluto is having issues for many of these games for which there may already be a solution (such as running in compatibility mode). From my own experience, I don't recall even having to use compatibility mode for many of them.

About a year ago Bluto posted a similar question in regards to where he might find a used Windows 98 computer, which you can find here. The advice there is applicable to the present topic too.

Hi Bluto, the Flying Dutchman (Rob) provided you with that tracking information regarding Syberia; he was the one who sent you the game. And I was the one who gave him your mailing information.

And also, Bluto, did you read the posts above answering your question about where to find an XP desk top?

You didn't make a mistake, Bluto! You just mixed up your posts a little bit! The post with the information about the game Rob sent you is in your post in the Games Buy, Sell and Trade forum. No worries!

Did you see my comment above about the posts in THIS thread about where you might find an XP computer to buy on Ebay? Also, I posted a link to our Windows 7 and games thread where you might find ways to run your games on Windows 7.

Bluto, Rob sent you the information in a private message right here on Gameboomers - do you know how to read your private messages?

Rob said this in the Trading Post Syberia thread:

Quote
Hello Bluto,

The game has been sent.
Arrival date probably between the 11th and 15th.

The Track and Trace I will send you by Personal Message.]

And no need to apologize. smile

I've wondered that too, Marian! Bluto said he sent me two messages, but there was nothing there. Could he not know how to access and use his private messages? Which, of course, is where all private information such as addresses etc. should be sent.

We are ALWAYS here to help as much as we can! That's what we do. I wish I could use pictures, but we can't do that here at GB. Look at the upper right of your screen. Underneath all the links to the different places to go at Gameboomers, you will see your screen name... Bluto. To the left of Bluto, there is a small envelope. Click on it and that will take you to your Private Messages! To send someone a private message - such as including your address which should never be public - just go to a post the person has made. For example, go to The Trading Post forum and find your Syberia post. Scroll down to find FlyingDutchman/Rob. Click on his name. A drop-down list lets you select the second one to "SEND" him a Private Message.

PLEASE let us know if you need any more help as we are here and glad to give it!

Below is an edited screenshot with a huge red arrow pointing at the location of the Mailbox for GameBoomers' messages.
At least this is what it looks like at on my computer.
