Sorry Jan.....was listening to a clip from a friend in the UK....Welshman singing opera and he brought me to tears!
Yes you did need the bitmap file, will send the other in a moment.
Go to local disk/program files/The Adventure Company/The Sacred Rings and you should be able to open that and find a folder marked save.
You might want to move your number 3 saved game to a different folder.....ie make a new folder and that will allow you to save more games for yourself without saving over others.
Once you have an empty slot, copy/paste the saves I've sent or drag/drop them into your saved games folder.

Sue

Edit

Have sent the nmo file again Ginger!

No need to say sorry Sue, you do have your own stuff to do and it's very kind of you all to help us who need help, much appreciated.
I like Welsh Male Voice Choirs, beautiful.

I received the second .nmo file, I'm having a devil of a job finding where to put them both. I'm on Vista but I've done a search for the existing .nmo and .bmp files and where it points me too I cannot, for the life of me, find the folder in Explorer in order to transfer them.

It's bedtime now and I'll try again tomorrow, thank you so much.

Jan.

Ginger, I'm sorry but I know nothing about Vista. However, I probably can literally walk you through all the settings for this puzzle and help you do it yourself.
Give me a shout tomorrow and we can try that.

Sue

Hello Sue,

With much mucking about I managed to save your saves into the correct folder. I don't know if it made any difference but I changed the read-only properties in my user folder. I then did a search for AppData (part of the path to the saves) and found it. I dragged and dropped your saves from the emails into the folder and it works.

The full path in Vista is as follows C/Users/USER NAME/AppData/Local/VirtualStore/Program Files/The Adventure Company/Aura2 The Sacred Rings/Save
The said folder still doesn't show up in Explorer, you need to go and search for it!

Thanks for your help Sue, much appreciated.

No doubt I will be back with another problem!

Jan.

Glad you were able to figure out how to use Vista Jan!
You should do just fine now.

Samson don't worry about the lights being on or off. Check and make sure all four stands have the correct settings, that you have the correct number of crystals lit and the correct button pushed on the panel. Did you finish the map puzzle and put the correct icons on the steering wheel?

I'm back, surprise surprise.

I've got to the part where I need to touch the wafting colours with the paint brush, I've seen the colour change butterfly but my eye hand co-ordination isn't up to scratch, would it be possible for a save game please?

Thank You,

Jan.

Give me some time Jan and I'll get a saved game off to you. This was one puzzle where patience was really a virtue.

Sue

Saved game is on the way Jan. Puzzle is complete and I think the books have been switched already.

Thank you Sue, most people I know will say I've got a lot of patience for this sort of thing but every time I click I'm a millisecond behind the colour.

.nmo received, do I need a .bmp to join it please Sue?

Thank You,

Jan.

Nothing yet, LOL. They must be floating around in cyberspace somewhere. Nothing in deleted file or junk file, very very strange, twilight zone.

Thanks for trying Sue.

Ginger wait until we have another mod around and I'll see if they can't get it to you.
I have no idea why they aren't reaching you.
I'm sorry that we are hitting this bump in the road.

Sue

Ginger see if your email rejects mail if it's over a certain size please. That's the only other thing I can think of even with zipped files.

Never had a problem with attachment size before, received your previous .bmp file which was over 3mb.

No need to be sorry that I'm not getting it, the internet can be a law unto itself sometimes.

Thanks Sue.

P.S. When I was thinking straight I went into Vista Windows Explorer and unticked the HIDDEN setting in my App Data folder, hopefully now it will be much easier to see and transfer files.

Thank you MaG. I don't understand why the files aren't going through for her though.

Received yours thank you MaG.
It is very weird Sue seeing as you sent and I received a set in the last few days.

I had another attempt at doing it, I get two and then I go all wrong.

Thank You Both, Much Appreciated.

It's me again I'm afraid.

I'm outside the Keepers Palace on the cliff face looking for the bat cave to gain entry to the palace.
I can't find the bat cave, I'm trying to follow the walkthrough for this part.
I've just collected the water in the lamp.

Any guidance appreciated Thank You,

Jan.

There are pictures in the walkthrough.
After you get that waterlamp filled, turn right and climb up to that wide ledge again.
Then you turn left, forward and then left again.
Now be careful here:
There are 2 exits; one on eye leve a bit to the left and one down on the ground and a bit to the right.
Take the one to the right and on the ground.

Then you can follow the wt from there. luck

Thank you MaG I'll give it a try from your directions.

I have printed out the walkthrough to save me keep having to exit the game to look at it when necessary. It's printed out rather dark so it's difficult to see.

Thanks.

I apologize for not adding this post to my previous post via the edit button, Sorry!

Hello Sue,

How are you doing? Good I hope.

From MaG's directions I managed to get into the bat cave. I think my problem is that I need to adjust the brightness on my monitor, it was all so very dark and very difficult to distinguish different places on the cliff face.
I have been having a wander around the location, I've seen the ghost, chopped up chains too so I am slowly making headway (without resorting to the walkthrough or your goodselves at the moment) but I expect I'll be back.

Thank You Both for your Time.

Jan.
