What do you do with those clubs that you earn. I try using them on number cards and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. So how do you use them?

Those extra clubs are like extra cards. If you need one to start a run you just click on it and as if it were a card with that number on it on your deck. You can also use it to keep a run going. If you are on a run and you need a certain number to keep going, and you have a club with that number just click the club and keep going.

Hope this helps,
Flo

Thanks Flo, I was coming over to answer and you had already done it happydance

I have a question---By trial and error I have decided that if you have clubs 2 through 9 in your golf bag, you don't get any more until you use at least one of them?

Actually, I haven't run across that, but if the club shows up and you already have one, I don't see any reason why you couldn't have a spare. Actually, I do know, I have had doubles like 2/4's etc. However, this is in the online game, and I assume, the downlaod game wouldn't be much different.

I really don't think it matters whether or not you use them, it's whatever comes up in the cards.

Enjoy the game, I know I really like the online game and prefer it.

So that's why it didn't work for me. I didn't realize the number on the club had to be the substituted number.

Got it.

Okay, I have another question. I am at the point where I need to get a run of 16. I patiently played while getting my bag full, and then engineered a situation where I ended the play pile from the board on "10" and then thought I could play from 9 on down to 2 to get my run of 16.

However, the game allowed me to play the numbers from the bag, but did not give me credit in my run for them after the first one or two. Does anyone know the rules for when you don't get credit for the numbers from the bag?

L4l,

I'm not sure if this is what you're asking-
When you do a run, it is the number of cards you flip over on the main screen before you flip-open a card at the bottom.
So once you start a run using the face-open card at the bottom of screen, use a club you got in the bag to continue the count-run until you get all possible ones on the main screen. Do not click on the closed or face down card pile or it will stop the run.

Hi ya MaG,
Thanks!

Actually, what happened was I had a 9 card run using the cards from the board. Then I used the "golf clubs" from my bag to continue the run, but did not get credit for it.

So I'm thinking that there is a limit on how many "number clubs" the game will count. I finally got past it by using 3 or 4 cards on the board, then 1 club from the bag, then 2 cards from the board, one club from the bag, etc.

I just wondered if anyone knew how many clubs from the bag in sequence the game will count?

I also have a question - how or hints to get $16000 to finish a 9 hole course?

Holy Moly that's a lot. I'm guessing you need to do lots of runs to get your multiplyer way up there? I haven't gotten there yet?

When you get to the end of a course, and you have not met your goal, do the exact same boards come up again or are they randomized? A few times I had deja vu?

No, a new one comes up on the replays of the same course. I got similar layouts on other courses too.

The most I got on a 9 hole is 7-8Ks. I tried once only on this 16k goal. Ugh!
-----
EDIT:

I got through. I misinterpreted the statement. It included the purse you get for under par score on the 9 hole. So the score you get plus the 10900 purse can get you over the 16k.

Thanks MaG, that is helpful to know.

I love that you get to play over and over and keep your money until you finally accomplish the goal wave

Ok I have a question, is anyone else actually addicted to this game? I feel I must at least play 1 hour a day and when I start I donot want to stop. LOL MaG you are further then me I just got to the catcus course. I have used the iron clubs and had as much as 2 at a time. I have just purchased the Xray glasses. MaG do you have the Xray Glasses yet or anyone else? Since this isn't a regular adventure game with a plot I don't think I needed a spoiler tag on that. I love fairway solitare truly the most relaxing of casual games and fun and exciting at the same time. I really love the comments the announcers make cheering us on. I find myself smiling each time they congratulate me. One more thing I hope the game developer from Big Fish will answer, has anyone else heard the loud burping sound from someone that surprises the anouncer? The anouncer says " Mr ... we are recording here and on the air. Or words to that effect. It is so funny and it sounds like it really happened. Oh and the jokes about the wives are funny also Great game with a great sense of humor. I hope people will at least try the demo, I did and I am addicted now for life. LOL

Sherryah, I don't get to play everyday, but I do really enjoy this game because it is easy to dip into for a quick 30 minutes and then come back later. wave

Like L4L, I do like the game. It is one of my keepers.
As for the things to buy - the last I bought was the ring of plenty. It is the first at left of the bottom row.

I'm addicted...yep, I am, and am so stuck at I think it's Paradise Island; didn't think I'd ever make it past Joe's.
And have been sued so many times I'm surprised I have any money left, not to mention that durn worm....
Now I wonder, if there might be another tournament waiting in the wings???

Wow MaG I haven't even seen that option yet. You must have alot of money and really be lucky in solitare. Congratulations!

I am just wondering since all of you are mentioning items in the golf store I do not see. Are there random items to buy since we have various characters to play? Are you playing the dark hair woman by any chance? Yeah, I also hit the ball through Joes window or I get sued for hitting the lawyer who is a spectator!

I think I can help out here looney . . . .

The game will count cards towards the run provided they come only from the table layout. Any time you use a club from your bag, it is not counted as part of the run. When you go back to using cards from the layout again the run counter will continue from where it left off.

There is no max or min number that you can use in a run, NO "club" card will increase the run number smile

I'm also 'addicted' to this game, well, at least to a point. I can play for several hours at a time, but only if I'm making progress. If I'm stuck on a particular course for over an hour, I'll switch to another game for a while; I can only take so much losing grin

A couple of you are definitely further along that I am; I have the magnifying glass that increased the multiplier. I forget the name of the course I'm at but I think I'm about halfway thru. When I used the arrow on the course name listing, I was surprised to see how many there are; wow, I've got a ways to go eek

Congrats, BFG, on a great game thumbsup

I'm having trouble finishing this game. I agree that it's addictive. I've been playing it for weeks and I've only got the last six levels to complete.

I'm hopelessly stuck on "Joe's Gas 'n' Gulf" though, where I need to get a score of -1 to proceed. The difficulty arises from there being very few cards available at any time on any of the holes. They're really messed up and it's almost impossible to plan ahead, since almost all of the cards are face down and blocked by others.

I've tried so many times and the best I've managed is a +8 score so far. It's by far the toughest level thus far.

I can't believe that there are any techniques that would make it any easier, but if anyone has any advice, I'd be happy to hear it...

There is a cheat where you can change every level except the last one. It is easier to send you to the page than to type it all here.

Fairway Solitaire Cheats

It was the only way I was able to get to the last course but I have been unable to complete the last one being an 18 hole course.

luck Linda

**edited: You brought me good luck betterspud, I just won the last course! By the way, I changed my levels in excel like it appeared in my folders and it worked like a charm. I just used the suggested changes. Linda wave

Believe it or not, I actually just discovered that you can edit the rules for the levels. (Decided to have a poke around in the game folder) and 'tweaked' the level I was stuck on. Since then I've found it much easier and have now completed the game myself!!

I have to say, it's by far the most enjoyable solitaire game I've played. Anyone know of any other similar (or better) ones?

betterspud, after reading your post, I looked at the same thing because I can't get to the 23 cards needed for Morgan's Brook. To my surprise and disappointment, when I opened the file for that level, instead of asking for the 23 cards, it shows a game score of -7 or lower to get to the next level with a name I've already past. Also, all the levels are listed in alpha order, not in game playing order.

Either that gopher messed with the programming or something's rotten on golf course! :-(
