I just had to buy another game credit for Escape the Museum and it is, for some reason, taking a long time to download. So I started thinking, (dangerous I know!).

On the top 100 downloads page where it shows the ranking and whether or not the game has went up or down and how much....is that based on the hour trial downloads or if the game was bought or both?

And that got me to thinking too.... My family was talking about the Big Fish Logo cause our grandson loves me to play Liongg the Dragon Mahjongg and he loves the Fish logo. I said, I wonder why the "Big Fish" as a logo. My husband thought that a "Big Fish in a small pond...?". I thought that might make sense. Does anyone know how this great company started, how long it has been around, and why the name and logo? think

Thanks for reading and my download is about done, can't wait to play Escape the Museum! bravo

Koalanut

ps... Thanks Margie for the walkthrough for Escape, I have already bookmarked it for "just in case" thanks

Thanks Ana! I love this quote from the interview....

Quote:
The problems was that our core demographic are 45 year old gamers, largely women, and the folks deciding what games to launch were mostly men in their twenties.

HA! This explains why Big Fish is MY Favorite!!!! hearts

Escape the Museum was a ton of fun Koalanut and I doubt that you'll need a walkthrough. Let us know what you think of it!

Sue--
I downloaded the demo a few days ago, and had just gotten another game for my game credit. I couldn't get that " I want to play that Escape again, it was so fun with the room puzzles in it" off my mind. So I was home tonight and I just had to buy another credit. This game is a real gem!

Thanks!

Koalanut

Hey Koalanut,

You're welcome! That was awfully nice of you to thank me for the walkthrough. I hope it comes in handy for you if you need it. I'm sure you'll do great. This was a great game, especially for those who love this genre. If there's anything in the walkthrough that is not clear, I'll be more than happy to help you.

Take care and let us know what you think of the game.

Wonder what we got to look forward to in July?

Since that interview was posted on 5/26/06 (according to the date at the end of the interview) the July that was mentioned would have been in the year 2006, not this year. My guess is that it was probably MCF: Ravenhearst, the third game in the series since he mentioned the first 2 games.

To love is to be happy with!

This thread made me think of BFG's contest to name the BFG fish. Never heard the results. What IS the fish's new name?

I don't know Joanie, I don't remember it ever being announced but if anyone will remember, it will be Ana.
She probably won't get back to us before this evening though.

Yes, I am pretty sure it's Felix too! In one of the MCF games I remember seeing him, clicked on him there was that contest I think called "Find Felix".

I just got an e-mail from a Big Fish tech last night and he mentioned Felix the Fish, so it's definitely Felix.

WE never came to consensus. We called it FElix a few times and it seems to be somewhat well known. We have tentatively decided to call it "The Big Fish". There are a few people at BFG who hate Felix, but there are also quite a few that think "The Big Fish" is too generic and boring.

Curious to get you emotional and logical reactions to:
"The Big Fish"
vs.
"Felix"

Thoughts?

Well, just off the top of my head, I prefer a name to a description.

So that would mean I'd take Felix (though it does make me thing of the Odd Couple, or going further back, the cat)

oops May I dare to be different? I don't care for Felix. I think it either needs a new name that would somehow correlate to BigFish and gaming or just The Big Fish.

If that is the only choices, I would choose Felix too.

But look what I found trying to find a name that meant "fish"

Quote:
Gedda

The name Gedda is a baby boy name. The name Gedda comes from the Danish origin. In Danish the meaning of the name Gedda is: Pike fish.

So go Gedda Fish...oh well, I tried!

I vote for The Big Fish...

I love the name and I like the picture it gives me in my mind. Big Fish.... the boss of the water.... Top Banana.

When I hear Felix I think of a cat or cartoon.

If they want to name the fish they should have a contest.
