I'm trying to get the password for the doctor's computer. chrissie, I read all your hints to Volkana. I did the thing with the red filter on 3 books (I never got the Robert E. Lee book) but I don't know which password to use. So which book is it and which week? My eyes aren't good enough to try all the weeks. I did write some passwords down and tried them but no luck. I'm trying but this one is beyond me. (Besides which this isn't *adventure* any more. *Adventure* would be finding the password in a desk drawer or written on a note somewhere in the room, like maybe a bulletin board.) This depends on logic, I think, and I can never get those logic-type puzzles. Probably because I find logic boring.

Hi sierramindy, this puzzle was a bit beyond me too! The explanation as to how you work out the passwords is quite long so if you do want to try it would be either worth peeking at the walkthrough or waiting for someone to post who has a better idea than me! The Robert E. Lee book can be found at the back of Hungerton's house. The week & book are: Week 5 of the book Wihout Guilt If you want to skip the working out part the solution is: Click on Jason to get the time of day (it should be the same as the time on your PC!)& then use the password corresponding to the time.
Time of day CORRECT Password

Why dont you look at walkthrough instead of using complete spoiler which is not good in my opine. the full answer to puzzle is not in the middle of walkkthrough spoiling other things, but right at end away from anything other. it also gives step by step hints so you don't have to use it all if you dont need.

That was a very tricky and very smart puzzle in my opinion... Good luck...

Here is how the puzzles works, afak: In Roberts log you see that he found the books, but couldn't work out the password because something else is needed. I'm assuming you can read the page 77 with the red filter, because it's been prementioned in the thread.
So, since you know the 1mag2ner3 something (don't remember the exact password actually), you need to find it in the books. Only it's not there but there is a... 9mag8ner7. So the numbers are reversed! What you get from the books you need to reverse the numbers from 10 in the computer login.
Furthermore the week is the week where 1mag2iner3 password was found. This is how I think the puzzle works. I've not discussed it with Alkis, and I didn't have the right passwords in beta99 (two days before the game was sent in the factory), so, I found the passwords for myself!

Hi Nikolas, I read the spoiler, too complicated for me. Hi LindaMarion, I value your opinion and found it interesting, but it just isn't my way, okay? As for the walkthrough, I'm staying away because Jason, uh Alkis, doesn't like 'em. Hi chrissie, you saved my life with the spoiler for the doctor's computer! Now I need the spoiler for Hungerton's computer. Thanks for telling me where to find the missing book as it was rather upsetting knowing I didn't have it and Jason would no longer go to the library. I know there are no dead ends, but I often click on things nobody else would dream of clicking on and fail to click where I should, so I could cause a glitch nobody else knew about. At least that thought is always in the back of my mind. Hi Volkana, Congratulations on finishing the game! The hard way by working out the computer puzzles. Good for you. Hi MaG, I am enjoying both the game and the great help I have been getting here at the great GB forum.

Thanks... Now if you need the spoiler for the Hungerton PC i'll give you this: if you already see the spoiler for dr's PC try to combine this password with this new PCs password. The changes that have to be done are based on the same idea as the previous ones. Use the first quarter of hints LindaMarion posts in the previous page of this topic. Mix them all together and you'll know...

Hi LindaMarion, Thanks for the spoiler for the password. I NEVER would have figured it out, no way. I didn't even understand what I was supposed to do by reading the hints, completely over my head. But now I need help with something very serious and I'm afraid of what I might have to do next. I'm trying to free Robert. I have the yellow phosphorus, ugh! I've seen the guard and the gun. My points are 383 so I'm near the end. BTW, chrissie told me about the garden/patio so I have the book.

Hi Volkana, Since you are using the spoiler tag and it is getting close to the end of the game, I will use it, too. I used all the thoughts on Robert and that was interesting, but what do I do with the cell phone?

Hi sierramindy, you first need to: go back upstairs to the briefing room & switch on the projector, (you should have an extension lead from the warehouse) then use the cellphone on the screen to record the 'hypnosis'. Click the phone on Robert.

Thanks, chrissie, for that last hint as I would never have figured that out in a million years. I was thinking I had to use the modem so I was going around trying it on the different computers. Didn't work, of course, silly me. Anyway, I said for the "last hint" and that is what it turned out to be as I have finished the game. I did the thing with the cell phone and that was easy because I already knew about the projector and had it hooked up ready to use. Nothing ever happened before but now was the right time and it worked. Went back to Robert, he did his thing and I went to the room for the gun. Once I had the gun I saved the game and to my BIG surprise I was at 400 points. So I knew I was at the end and only had to watch the final scenes. Before I leave this thread I want to say THANKS to all of you who posted hints and helped me. I really appreciate how you all put up with my questionable skills at playing an adventure game. I like them, never said I was good at them!

Hi all, and Sierramindy, I finished the game last night as well. Thank you to all of the gameboomers who posted....while I didn't always comment, I did benefit from your experiences. Sierramindy, I'm glad that you made it through...and I enjoyed your "ah-haa's". I very much appreciate everyone's restraint in not posting spoilers to the ending of the game. As Martha would say, "It's a good thing." It has been said before, but I too really liked Aklis' after-thoughts. It closed the circle, if you know what I mean. Thanks again gameboomers for providing this great space.

Well done sierramindy and gaily. I hope you enjoyed my game. Please take the time to give me your feedback this thread, the only place where it's OK to talk about the ending.
