I am puzzled by the different locations attributed to Saxton in TLC, One review I read places it in Cornwall others in East Anglia. I read that the filming was done in Cornwall which is surprising as the two couldn’t be more further apart or the countryside more totally different.

It is not that it is hard to find a location for ghost stories in England. If you believe in all the tales and legends we would have more ghosties and goulies than immigrants. We would be falling over them. The little village of Pluckley for example has sixteen at the last count. I am not being picky I just wonder why there was the need to transfer Cornwall to the Fenlands

Carousal -- I believe some of the buildings in the game are based on a town (Polperro) in Cornwall. The location in the fens (I suspect) was to take advantage of the marshy, foggy climate, as it plays a part in the story.

Yep, Polperro. If you have Google Earth installed on your PC you can zoom in on it. Pretty neat actually. smile

Yes it's Polperro here on the southeast corner of Cornwall. I have an oil painting of Polperro, painted by Chris Curtis the Harbour Master of Polperro on my wall and you can see Harbour Cottage in it.
Why Polperro and not any of the other small fishing ports down here? Because you can see the large gate across the harbour mouth, put there to help stop flooding on spring tides, which I think is unique to Polperro.
Why move it 500miles, maybe Jonathan thinks we have enought tourists down here although I would disagree with him on that. welcome
Google the website and find out why you should never use a Sat-Nav. in Polperro rotfl

Has any one seen any little gray cells around as I think I've lost some? Reward for finder.

You click parts of the map to learn a little about the real places they were based on.

Thank you for the info. I was just confused by setting the game in the Fen Lands when Saxton is in Cornwall, it couldn’t be for a foggy atmosphere as the West Country is probably one of the most mistiest of places, even on a summers morning. But since I have not played the game, no doubt that the reason is there.

No worries though, it is only a small point and does nothing to subtract anything from the game itself. Thank you all again

I love the idea to explore the countryside "in the real world". It' s a new kind of sightseeing.
I' m sure there will be some gamers at these places this year, looking out for Nigel and Lucy!
