Clubic did a French review. By looking at the bright smile of the review this game is looking very good. They have also included a video review.

http://www.clubic.com/test-jeux-video-8428-0-dracula-3-la-voie-du-dragon.html

I have translated the summary of the review:

PLUS =
Varied & polished animations.
Numerous animations
Atmosphere and scenario
Professional voice acting
Great detail to visuals and musical score
Need for external research for the game
Puzzles/riddles numerous and varied ....

MINUS
.... but many are rather hard
some screens not as polished as others
Music under-exploited
Some riddles seem to drag on in
Need for external research.

Conclusion:

Dracula 3 - Way of the Dragon is a successful adventure game. Very hard, it asks a lot of the player who has to do a lot of in game and external researches in order to solve some of the puzzles and riddles. The game bathes in an ambient and atmosphere that are well thought out, thanks notably in part to teh scenario that can bring the player to some levels of "creep factor". The game does not come filled with gore effetcs, but plays on the worryness and ill feeling effetcs. It is a title that all fans of rich, complex and demanding personal work should buy.

Hi Belgar smile

Thank you SO much for all that info .... Much appreciated thumbsup

I like the look of this game A LOT but might, of course, be on the look out for one of those famous MaG walkthroughs when the going gets tough - and it sounds like it could lol

Cheers.

Thanks Belgar for the info. I was really looking forward to this game but have you got more details about 'external research'?. My heart sank a lot at that & I dearly hope it's not going to be along the lines of Missing since January (In Memoriam) where you have to register etc, etc & it involves websites set up specifically for the game! frown

From reading the review, it indicated that you might need to do some book searches regarding Dracula & history, puzzle solving like math problems, they had some blood formula as well,... stuff that not many might know about and that would thus require the external source research.
Also mentioned that veterans of adventure games might be familiar with this type of puzzle solving vs. newcomers.

Review also mentioned that the Kheops team went to great lenght with historical accuracy, etc.

Thanks Belgar, checking out 'real' resources doesn't seem so bad - could be fun! smile

Kheops made Nostradamus if I remember correctly and there were a couple of external researches in that game as well, but nothing too bothering at all. I do enjoy external research as well but were it on the same extent as Missing, surely it would be clearly stated in the game description...
