I bought Cate West and the Vanishing Files from Real Arcade and had to download a whole lot of Real Arcade files. Does anyone know if I can remove Real Arcade and still play the game?

I believe that by removing it you will not be able to play the games. I tried searching the forum at Real and from what I can gather, you must have it installed. There are links in the Casual Forum Rules stickied for support there. Ana

Thanks Ana, It was too bad that BFG wasn't going to get this game and I bought it, but I really didn't want all that Real Arcade on my computer. I went on their site and I can't burn the game to a disk so I guess I have to decide if I want to ever play this game again or just remove it.

Might I suggest you wait one more month and when you get your credit, download Mortimer Beckett? It's another game that BFG won't be getting and it's really good. I signed up at realarcade specifically for Mortimer Beckett and Cate West and the extra realarcade files you have to download haven't slowed me down any.
The breeze from one door closing opens another.

I don't like RealArcade for various reasons, their downloader/game console is very annoying and hard to use, they are known for putting "tracking" cookies in their software, etc. If you uninstall the game console for playing games you cannot access them, I tried.
Why isn't BFG getting these games?

Patricia, BFG doesn't carry any games by Real Arcade/Gamehouse most likely because BFG's founder used to work for Real. See the gamezebo interview for BFG's history.  Anyway, see my posts in the bumped Cate West and Mortimer Beckett threads about both these games on iwin but sold by Try Media (no game manager, no tracking!) and for 50% off.

If you do find a game out there that we do not have, you can send a link to it to submissions@bigfishgames.com and we will try to add it to our site.
We work with every developer in the world that is relevant for our game types (except RealArcade's internally developed or published games...they also own Gamehouse. We would like their games, but they decided not to give them to us.)
