I really need help using the microscope to compare the hair samples, the burnt ones and the ones on Arlena's Brush....How do I do that? I added the burnt ones without a problem, but what do I do with the hair brush? I don't get a hot spot!

Examine the hairbrush closely in your inventory, you'll automatically separate and remove the hairs from the brush.
