I purchased nikopol with great excitment went home and tried to load - guess what - wouldnt do it. Tried everything, never has this happened in three years. Interesting it just growled at me. After trying everything I could I gave up. The point being the readme is on the disc, how can I read it, if it will not load. It loaded on my husbands machine and it still wont load on mine. so all I can think off is I must have a security item I dont know or have forgotten about which wont let me in. However the interesting info is this, I went to Best Buy web site andthey are selling a nikopol for half the price (18.83$ Can), went to walmart and they also have a nikopol for half price.(18.83$can) After reading the jacket I found this is (I think) a previous game with the fiance being kidnapped instead of dad. where are all these games coming from? Never heard of this game before now there seems to be a glut. Thought you might like to know.

Nikopol is not a new name for an old game teresa, it is a new game. I will move you to Glitches if you want help in installing it.

I think the game is on a DVD. If your drive is only a CD reader, it won't be able to read the DVD.

Is your OS Vista?
I found that due to Vista's security, my copy would not load. I read somewhere to just wait and eventually it will load.
I opened 'My Computer' and clicked on 'browse DVD'. When the DVD finally opened, I clicked on the game icon and selected 'install, or run'. Then waited.
23.5 minutes later the install box opened and I clicked install. From there it was no problem installing the game.

I have 2 dvd players and tried both. This is just one of those things that happen sometime. My husbands dvd loaded it with no trouble. The reason I was saying about the readme being on the disc is if a problem does arise as I had not much point install info being on the disc you cant read. I didnt bother doing anything else, just moved on. Thanks for input.

I have two dvd recorders and I have noticed that when they get a lot of hours on them the first thing that goes is they fail to read or identify dvd's and all other functions still work fine.

It took me a little over 2 hours to install the game. I kept trying over and over. Finally left the room and when I came back, I had the install screen. My computer sounded like a coffee maker with the hiccups. Once it installed, I had no problem. Teddo

I always worry when my computer is making a big racket trying to read a game disc. Some of them are just unbalanced (the hole not quite in the center or something). But other discs seem to require multiple retries in order to read and I worry about the laser arm wearing out. I actually had a drive die after giving it a hard-to-read disc to try to read. After that it wouldn't read anything.
