ok have put them in my save/data file as 3's went into game to where it says load game and clicked on the third saved game but did not get beyond Mrs. Hardy should I perhaps start at the beginning and not save any files and when I get to the key part oh I'm sorry don't know what to do. Should I change the number to four since I have three saved files in the game but not in the save data file.

Gemma,

Is this a saved I sent or the one Rushes sent?
I'll send you another one. The boy will be in his bedroom then. Do the same thing you did before but number these 2 files #4.
Keep us posted.

the saves were from Rushes thanks will try again put it on my desktop change number there and then put it in save/data file and then go into my load game number three is this right thx MaG

Hi: did exactly same thing but still no go I think this game is a bogey. Took the patch out to see if that made a difference but no it did not. Do you think I should start all over uninstall and then reinstall keep your saved games on my desktop and go from there but then what will I change the number to. Thanks MaG I know your doing your best but I just don't seem to be quick enough to get Frank upstairs and when Mrs. Hardy says you are trying my patience then Frank goes upstairs and freezes and I have to shut the game down what a bummer eh.

My game is not patched. So that might make a difference.

Since you're at the beginning, you can try uninstall, install with no patch and play and save a game somewhere at start.
Then renumber the one I sent you to be the last number.
Place it together with the rest of the saved game.
See what happens.
Good luck.

I think I did for instance Save_File01 Save_Pic01 tried Save_File2, Save_Pic2 also none worked talked on phone and got email of philipp@dreamcatchersgames.com and he said he might be able to help but have not heard anything from him for a few days so that's that will try renumbering maybe the underscore should be a hyphen or maybe a space is wrong somewhere will give it another try thanks again. Looks like it would have been a good game but I guess other people are having problems with it also.

It should have extensions. I forgot to emphasize that.

yes I did and guess what that didn't work so have uninstalled game and also tried to play one of my other games and that doesn't play also so am biting the bullit and taking my computer into future shop tomorrow to have a diagnostic done ($40.00) and see if maybe there is something wrong with my computer because I keep getting silly things popping up such as error and freezing and missing this and missing that even my stupid silly little games don't play correctly oh well cest la vie will keep you informed singing out right now am somewhat disgusted with myself since I probably did something stupid to screw up my computer. Will keep you posted thanks for everything you guys tried everything and gave it your best shot.

Hi, I'm having the same problem as Gemma getting the keys. Can someone please send me a saved game to get past this most frustrating part in the game?
I tried the double click tip to get Frank down the stairs faster but then he takes too long to pick up the keys, and the double click doesn't seem to help this action go any faster. I have XP and a patched game.
Many thanks.

I only have an unpatched saved game. Let's wait.
Tell me if you want to try the unpatched one.

Many thanks Mag,I'm happy to try the unpatched in the meantime, I've been looking forward to playing the Hardy Boys as am a keen ND fan, so a tad disappointed with this hold up so early in the game, hope all plain sailing once I get past this bit!
Cheers

hi! i think you may be putting your saved games in the wrong place.you have to click on computer and then click on programs file, then click on the name on the game, then click on the data file, look up at the topon the screen see a word compatibility and click on that this is where your saved game are for this game and where you new ones go,if you last save game is save_file1,save_pic1 yours will be a 2at the end and DO NOT USE THE EXTS.they won't work in this game.hope this helps.

Thanks again and sorry to take a while getting replying.
I've been trying many things to get the saved game to work, I've done it before on another game last year with your help for the Next Life timed puzzles, so know it should work ok.
However no luck this time, have tried various things including uninstalling and reinstalling the game as an unpatched game.
(I pretty much know the script off by heart for this first part of the game :D)
Anyway I've just noticed that the games that I save through the game are called for example Save_File2 and underneath greyed out "File 11KB"
And the game you sent me Mag is has greyed out "DAT File 11KB"
So I tried adding .jpg and .dat to the names when I changed them to the consecutive saved game number, but that didn't seem to work either, which is what I think you're saying Abby.
Thanks also Abby, I think I have put them in the right folder called SaveData where the other saved games are?
I'm going to try re-booting and see if that helps.
Fingers crossed...

Actually because I had uninstalled and reinstalled the game I thought that it would be unpatched, but have just checked the folder after reading your reply and the patch was still there, so have uninstalled the patch from control panel and uninstalled the game again, and will reinstall again later, but have to go out now...darn normal life interfering with my game playing...

Unfortunately that didn't work either and I double checked not patched, so not sure what I'm doing wrong.
And the mouse is slow to respond anyway, 2005 computer, maybe too slow for newer games?
I'll see if my son can get me through that part when he gets home, otherwise I'll wait for a patched saved game.

Normal life is fun, it's just that I'm holidays and I like to devote lots of time to adventure games while I have the time... insert happy face here!
Thanks for all your help MaG.

I don't know why it works for others and not work for some on XP. Vista for sure is a problem.
I'm sorry. Maybe someone else' save might work.
Maybe a member will send us patched saves.
