I can't seem to find a definition list of acronyms so I have to sound like a complete moron and say:

What does HOG mean? How about IHOG?

I am sure it is totally obvious and I will just end up smashing my head off the desk when someone tells me.

HOG is Hidden Object Game and IHOG is Interative Hidden Object Game.

HOG games are like the mystery case file games where you have to search for random objects. But IHOG games are more like Rhiannon where you need to find objects, but they are used as part of the game (like oil cans, keys, pencils, whatever) and there isn't a list of what to find.....

Did I get that right?

Rhiannon is an adventure game. An IHOG is more like Return to Ravenhearst and others were you have hidden object lists to find and you will use some of those items to do other things.

Oh hello, Margaret. Whew! Nice to know I am not the only one this side of the globe.

I found this site by accident while trying to get a help on the Lost Crown. I then started relying on the reviews to make decisions on which games to buy next. I am so glad I found it. The people here seem incredibly friendly, but most of all so darn helpful.

HOG was ya know pig and I thought IHOG was a typo
until I saw it a few 100 times and finally asked.

and which ones are IHOGS you'd have to ask Ana

Return to Ravenhurst is one of the BEST IHOG's you can play
but there's tons of new ones coming out at Big Fish all the time

There is no list differentiating the two I'm afraid. It seems whenever we try and start a list of them, we can't all agree which are IHOGs and which aren't.

I am off to buy the sequel to ravenhearst as per your recommendation. I played the demo of dept 42 and it is now on my list of games to buy as well. My 10 year old daughter has gotten into it and I see she has downloaded about 4 demos that she is in the process of "reviewing and deciding which one is the next must buy". I love adventure games, but the HOG and IHOG games are so fun and frankly I love to get lost in the searches. What a FAB way to unwind after a long day.

Oh, and snickers is fine. Though underweargirlwhostacksposts seems to be quite the crowd favorite.
