I am in Jack's apartment and had seen the rose symbol and got the code for the puzzle. It is the Hook Puzzle and I already placed the Allen Wrench on the 5th hook. I tried to turn the hooks accordingly to the rose in the WT starting with the 5 hook-SW- 2 hook-NW, 3-SE, 1-W; 4-NE. Nothing happened! I can't enter the secret compartment. I must have omitted something. Are you suppose to place them according to the colors? If so, how do you do that? I couldn't see it on that hook puzzle where the colors were. Please help!

Be sure to look at the map rosette with the colored cardinal points.
It is the color key for the code.

I finished that part of the game, but am stuck at the Safe Puzzle. My number on the bull was -02, 19, 28, 07; 05. I turned L,R,L,R,L, but nothing happened! Then I turned R,L,R,L,R and then nothing happened! The safe didn't open at all. I mad sure that the correct number was under the red line at the top! I checked the number on the bull and it was the same numbers that I am now using!

I finally found out what I did wrong and I got the safe opened and am now in Marseilles, France at the palace.

I cannot get Manuel to tell me he wants something to drink, offer me the stick for the fruit, so that he will give me a belt for the grindstone. Whew!! Have gone back through the whole thing 3 times, beginning with giving him the cap; and I've used instructions from 2 different walkthroughs. Can anyone help?

You tried to fix the fan with brushes Manuel gave you but they are too big.
Talk to Manuel to ask for smaller brush.
You check the grinder.
Look close at the left end - not the center of the grindstone. She will say she needs a belt.
Then go back and ask Manuel about belt.

got stick, fruit, belt. thanks again. this game is picky about where you click, even though she says the same thing about needing a belt if you click the center of the grindstone!

Actually, you need to click on both because the belt goes from the left end to the center.

I don't know how all of these other people got in here with this link.
I am stuck in the Library at the Palace. I looked at the photo and took the fake statuette and the square with the ornament hidden behind the photo. Then I went to the right to the bookcase and removed all of the books on the middle shelf. I clicked on the shelf to push it in and saw the slider puzzle. Before I could look close at the puzzle and do it, I clicked on the shelf and I was in the hidden room and was shot by a man! I couldn't do any more. What seems to be the problem and why couldn't I do the slider puzzle? I need some help as to what I did wrong and why I was shot? Thanks for any tips you can give me.

Before you open the bookshelf - lock the door. Then the guards will not enter.

Thanks! I didn't realize that I had to lock the door. That is a good idea and should have realized it. Will do it.

I locked the door and now I am stuck at the Mosaic Slider Puzzle. I have been trying to do this puzzle for the longest time and would you be so kind as to send a save? This would be greatly appreciated. Please inform me as to how to upload the save as well.
