I'm playing Anacapri for the second time. Unlike the first time, I have run into a problem with the hole game on the rock of the greko. After carefully going over each step of the walkthrough from the beginning, I cannot solve the puzzle because only 2 kneeling figures appear in each hole, rather than 5 different ones. The photo should be 4153 but 4154 keeps coming up. Have reinstalled twice, read all past hints and can't find the answer. Can anyone help? Thanks, Mel22odie I have played with and without patch.

Hi mel22odie,

Is it not possible to scroll through the different figures by clicking on the coloured buttons below each picture?

Do you have the pages of the diary which show these images?

Yes,Rushes, I have all the necessary pages and yes, I have scrolled through each hole many times and have retraced my steps and repeated this. The only time that there was a different picture was the very first time that you see the gecko (but at that time you don't have all the pages) and there is one other, that of the frightened person. After that they remain all the same. I just wrote to support but would imagine since the game is old that they might not get back to me. Thanks for helping. I wish that I could get the correct picture to come up, but that isn't possible. Mel22odie

I hope you get a fast response that will solve your problem. In the meantime perhaps a member who is also currently playing, or has recently played, might be able to suggest a way around. luck

Thanks Rushes, I appreciate your help. I hope that someone has the answer, for I've been trying for 2 days. I was looking at the "lists" for the year and noticed that Anacapri was mentioned 4 times and one time a member put it at number 1. It is such a beautiful game, like taking a trip but with a fascinating mystery. There are so many bad reviews that seem so unfair. There has to be an answer for I played it once before and although I did get stuck at another place, I didn't at this place.

I just checked the Anacapri website. There's a paragraph which mentions the problem you are having:

"It might occur that some of the symbols/keys (required to unlock doors/puzzles during the game) cannot be selected or are just not available. This is NOT a glitch, but a protection that takes place if some of the information or objects required to unlock a door/puzzle have not been obtained yet. If all the information or objects have been correctly obtained, relevant symbols/key will appear as they should."

I'd suggest to double-check that:
- You have pages 25-34 of the diary, taken from Massimo.
- You have pages 15-24 of the diary, taken from the Grotta under the Neolithic drawing.
- Read all pages of the diary in inventory.
- If you looked through the telescope and saw the gecko peeping out of the cave, move forward and examine the front of the cave.

Crossing fingers for you. smile

Yes Rushes, I read the same thing and double checked everything from the very beginning using MaG's walkthrough to make sure that I had done everything. I double checked and reread the pages. What they said fit so perfectly with my problem but it wasn't. It seems strange that having reinstalled and arriving at the same place, that I had the same problem. I do not know where the saves are for that which says salva is on the disc itself. So it can't be the saves. Can't find any other place. Just a thought. Mel22odie

The installed game folder has the salva files. Those are the saved games.

I'm so glad, MaG, that you wrote that the Salvas were the saves. That's what I thought at first but when I reinstalled the game, they were still the same so I thought that they couldn't be mine. I deleted them all and started from the beginning and it worked. I finally was able to put the pictures in order. I also think that when Rushes asked had I scrolled through the pictures, I had scrolled one hole after the other. I'm not sure if I stayed with one button and scrolled. So, I might have been able to do this yesterday. I can't believe that that was what happened. Anyway, I have started fresh. Thanks Rushes and MaG. It's so nice to solve a problem with your great help. Thanks again, Mel22odie
