Hi everyone. I just wanted to post and say that I am totally addicted to casual games now. I only started playing them a couple of months ago, but now I'm hooked and just spent I don't know how long playing Escape from Rosecliff Island. I had to make myself stop so I could walk my poor dog who's been eager to go and so I can actually get to bed before midnight. lol BUT, if I could I'd stay up all night playing this darned thing. I can't believe how addictive these games are and I've been having a ball on Big Fish, Play First, and Yahoo Games trying different ones and seeing which ones I like. smile

btw---IMO these are some definite "good ones":

Escape from Rosecliff Island
Midnight Mysteries the Edgar Allan Poe Conspiracy
Ravenhearst 1 and 2 (of course!)
Abra Academy
and Puppet Show: Mystery of Joyville
(On this last one I was only able to play the trial version. Even though I bought the game at Big Fish, I have been unable to install it and am hoping that the customer service guys can help me out because it's a really fun game)

As you can see I've been busy but I think that this is only the tip of the iceberg! I'm going to buy and download more goodies and will post after I've tried them out. I hope you all have as much fun w/ these games as I have. smile

Cat, who is really genre-hopping lately

Yes, I am also totally addicted to them. So far this year I have hardly played ANY of my full blown Adventure games!!

When I first tried the HOGs out, I really did think they would be boring, just looking for items, but boy was I wrong - I spend hours and hours on these games - Thank goodness I am retired LOL!!

And these casual games just keep on getting better and better and better.

My favorite trend recently in casual gaming is the fusion between HOG and adventure game-like story and puzzles.
(IHOG?) (Adventure-lite?) (HOG/Puzzle?)

I, too, have been playing these casual hybrids for most of the year in lieu of, IMHO,
a year of disappointing full fledged point-and-click adventure games.

Standouts that I've enjoyed were...

Drawn: The Painted Tower
Emerald City Confidential
Princess Isabella: A Witch's Curse
Magic Encyclopedia: Moon Light
Dream Chronicles: The Chosen Child
Azada: Ancient Magic
Pahelika: Secret Legends
Reincarnations: The Awakening
Puppet Show: Mystery of Joyville
Vampire Saga: Pandora's Box
Cate West: The Velvet Keys
Mystery Legends: Sleepy Hollow
Treasure Seekers: The Enchanted Canvases
Enlightenus
Princess Annabel
Mystery Masterpiece: The Moonstone
Marooned
Strange Cases: The Tarot Card Mystery
Nick Chase: A Detective Story
Dr. Lynch Grave Secrets

And I know there are ones I can't recall, I've played SO many!

Yep, I'm addicted too. Funny thing is that it comes and goes. I managed to go cold turkey for several months, but now my addiction is in full-blown mode again. I don't own 300 games YET, but the day is coming...

Just curious, does the Rosecliff game have a timer?

Hi catbelly, when Puppetshow came out I had a problem downloading it. The game would not open. The excellent BFG tech support said that they were working on it and would inform us when an update was available! wave

I liked Escape from Rosecliff Island. I still play the Unlimited Seek and Find or the Match 3 game when I'm feeling bored.

I'm really into HOG's right now myself. I'm just not in the right frame of mind at the moment to take on an involved adventure game. The casual games are just what I'm needing for the time being.

I became addicted to Hogs as a child, when I read Highlights Magazine. The "Find the Hidden Pictures" was always my favorite part. Then as an adult I discovered the MCF games(Prime Suspect,Huntsville) and I was in HOG heaven all over again.I never get tired of them.

Thanks so much guys for all of your help about Puppet Show, and all of your enthusiasm and great game ideas as well! I'm a newbie to HOGs, but not for long! smile

Hugs all around,
Cat
