Hi charward,
I believe the main gate is where you came in at the beginning of the game, close to the pyramid.
Make sure that you have taken the letter from the librarian from the wall scroll slot in the observatory/workshop, and read it, otherwise you won't be able to get through the gates.

I have done all those things. The problem, I think,is according to the walkthrough when I pull the left plug water is supposed to flow but no water flows out. So I tried all the other things anyway but the door does not open.

I can only remember this puzzle vaguely. I still have my saves for this game but they are mostly unlabelled. I can send you a few from around this point and you can choose which is best for you, otherwise we can wait for someone with a labelled save to put you in exactly the right spot.

Hi charward, I moved you back to your old thread for this game. Take a look at THIS YouTube video walkthrough excerpt, it might help you with finding the rubble and fixing the jammed equipment. Let us know if you still have problems.

If Kordax has already fallen asleep then you're having a Good Day and so don't have to worry about taking the washbowl.
Go right on and take the items from the bag on the floor and continue the game.

Are you sure you need the bracelet? Wasn't that only needed if you needed to put Kordax to sleep? If you're having a Good Day then be sure to ignore everything in the Bad Day paragraph of the walkthrough, as those tasks won't apply. If you've spoken to Iris after blowing the horn and she mentioned the crown pieces, try jumping to the mausoleum and carrying on.
