I installed the DVD for this game (2009 DreamCatcher) without a problem. However, aren't there supposed to be voices with the dialogs? I see the subtitles but don't hear the voices. Also the sound isn't the greatest. In options, the sliders are all moved to the farthest right side. Has anyone else had this problem? I've not had any problems with any newer games until this one. I do have WinXP SP3. Pentium 4, 3.20 GHz 1.5, GB of RAM. I have NVIDIA GeForce 7300 SE/7200GS. I'm not sure how to post the other specs....

The game might have problems with certain onboard sound cards. You can try reducing audio acceleration and see if it helps at all. Look on the sound tab of dxdiag for the slider to reduce audio acceleration.

Click Start button, Run, type
dxdiag
in the box and OK it. Check the Sound tab.

Thanks so much Jenny - that worked. I turned it down a notch. Should I return it back to normal each time I finish playing a session of this game? Or, can I leave it alone until I completely finish the game?

That's up to you. You probably won't notice any difference in other games if you keep it where it is.

Jenny: Here I am again. Right after I moved the accel down a notch I tried the game and the voices were there. I saved it and then exited. When I re-opened the game a bit later the voices were gone again. So I moved the sound another notch to the left for basic sound. Tried the game again and nothing. So I went all the way left to "no acceleration"; tried the game again, and got the voices and sound back but it's poor quality and rather choppy. I beginning to wonder if I should continue on with this game. It seems interesting but not if I can't hear the voices and sounds... Any other thoughts?

Try rebooting and starting the game again.
Sometimes rebooting helps by clearing garbage in the cache.

You might also try reinstalling the audio drivers for your onboard sound.

If this starts to happen in other games, your onboard sound may be wearing out. If this is a desktop, you might want to consider getting a sound card.
