I just finished Dark Fall Lost Souls, (loved it BTW), and found DF the Journal on GOG for $2.99 so downloaded and gave it a try a few min. ago.

The game is running fine except I couldn't find an option to quit. I Googled it and found out there is a quit button on the top right part of the screen, however in my game, although I found it, I have to position the mouse in an area I can't see in able to access it. I noticed in the gameplay itself as well that when I try to go to the right or left that the cursor is barely visible.

Anyone know of a way to fix this.

Running Win. Vista 32 bit.

Thanks.

In the 2002 release, this is what is recommended: 640x480 screen area setting and at 32 bit True Color.

Have you tried that resolution?

Sounds like it might be a widescreen monitor problem. The Quit button is supposed to be in the upper right like in ***this picture***, but your monitor may be cutting it off. You might check your monitor settings to see if you can change the vertical and horizontal settings at all.

Hi Mag. I can't find anywhere to see if those are the settings for the game.

I went to the file location and checked all the files there, and there's nothing to let me change anything. I assume I'm running it in 640X480 simply because the graphics look like that resolution. And I'm sure in my graphics options in Windows that that it is set at 32 bit true color.

Not a big deal, I can still play the game. Just hoping it doesn't mess me up in some later part of it.

Thanks for the reply.

Hi Olgeezer, I just downloaded this game from GOG, and I'm having a similar problem--in my case, I have the "quit" button but not the other two, which I assume are "save" and "load"(?). The game automatically changes my default resolution to 640/480, Im sure Im running at 32 bit color depth. But I have no way to change anything after the game starts, as I dont show an "options" button. I hope someone will come along with a solution.

Edit: I should have been more patient...when first starting the game, only the "quit" button is visible. It is only after a few minutes of gameplay (where you turn on the lights in the station) that the "save" and "load" button become visible. This makes sense, because it is only after you advance into the game would there be anything to save!
