Just wondering. I can pick it up really cheap but heard some good and some bad things about it. Sounds like a hybrid AG/Horror survival game so it's right up my alley.

Thanks.

There is a playable Demo, in Gamespot and other pages. Maybe playing the Demo could help you.

If real is what you can feel, smell, taste and see, then 'real' is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain

Olgeezer, did you give it a try?

Hey Looney. No, I actually went for Stalker Call of Pripyat instead.

So far great game, although seems easier than Stalker SOC.

Also, has anyone played Alpha Protocol? The reviews were horrible but I've heard it compared to Deus Ex in some respects, and a lot of folks at my regular forum seem to think it's very good.

Yep, finished Alpha Protocol a few weeks ago. It's a good game, but still suffers from some bugs.

Not to mention that you need to patch the game after installing it, just so you can play it. frown

Do you think the bugs have a significant impact on the game play?

Not by much, but the last mission in Rome isn't working as it should (if buying the contact info).

The second bug is that one sub mission doesn't get the "accomplished" message, so it still shows up as an active mission (at the end of the game).

Some minor animation problems when taking out enemies (silently) if there's some space between the player and the enemy.

The most annoying thing is that the game wont play after installing, so you have to install the patch just to get it to play (really frustrating if you don't know about it before, and you have to look for the info to why).

But once you get to play it, it's really enjoyable despite the mentioned bugs smile

Smiley, I'm glad that the bugs did not keep the game from being enjoyable. wave

Alpha Protocol is one strange beast. I found it on Direct2Drive for 6 bucks and DL'd it.

I have a love/hate relationship with it. On one side I HATE the mini games because of mouse lag, that even fiddling with the ini files doesn't seem to fix.

On the other side, I LOVE the dialogue options that are kind of like MA2, but timed, like Indigo Prophecy. Gives the game a real urgency lacking in most RPG's, and although I'm not very far into it yet, it seems as though how you react to someone while in conversation actually affects how they will treat you later in the game.

Olgeezer, let us know what you think when you get further in, perhaps on a thread of it's own.
