Well, your tips worked. However..
After opening the dodo egg, etc. I go to the library. Am told about Hogwarts. Go to Christ Church. (restoration) Go to St. Edmund Hall. w/t says "see Lambs Club." There is nobody there. What do I do now? Thanks.

Which subchapter is not 100% and which location is not gray?

Hi all,

I am play Gray Matter and am in the Nave at Christ Church and have finished talking with Angela (page 20 of Mag's WT) and can't get out of loop I am in where she asks about the paper cutting and Angela gives it to her. I have tried reloading the game, I have closed down and restarted also. Does anyone have a solution to get me out of this loop?

Thanks all!

Maverick

Hi Maverick,

A loop as in a glitch whereby the dialogue is repeating itself over and over without prompting? I haven't heard of that problem. A saved game might be your best bet, just to get you past that point. There are some HERE. luck

The same thing happened to me in the library. I just repeated the dialog and then progressed. Hope that helps.

MaG: Well, I guess I should read more of the manual. I'm not sure what areas are "gray," as they all look the same to me. And, as far as subchapters, am not sure about that either. I'm in Chapter 4, "there's always a plant in the house (continued). It says I'm 96% done. Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did repeat the dialog at least 4 times and I am still stuck. I wish I were more informed about computer use, but I have tried with my limited knowledge to install the sav and can't figure it out. Is there someone out there who could provide me with the instructions?

Thanks a bunch,

Maverick

Laurette,

White location is a new place.
Gold location still has a puzzle or bonus action to be done.
Silver location still has bonus action to be done.
Gray locations are finished locations.

The usual problem with not finishing that "plant in the house" subchapter is missing an active item in one of the charatcer's room or not finishing a dialogue.
It might be best for you to go around and checking the rooms and students.

Maverick,

I do not have my saved game with me right - so I don't know where they are stored.

Let's try this:
1. Download the zipped file from Lily's wt to your desktop.
2. Unzip that folder on the desktop.
3. Look inside that folder and see the saved game files inside.
4. Look for the Gray Matter saved game folder. Try opening My Documents folder and see if there is a Gray Matter folder there.
Check if the files are labeled similar to the files inside the downloaded saved games.
5. Check if there is a similar file number in the saved game folder.
6. Take that out and replace with the one you downloaded.
7. Play-load as usual.

Maybe someone can verify where the saved game folder for Gray Matter is located. luck

Maverick,
Right click the zipped folder.
Select "extract" from the drop down menu.
That should unzip that folder. luck

luck Laurette.

I watched the video w/t for Chapter 4, and didn't see anything I missed. I visited the students' rooms again and every location. It appears there's nothing left. One question I do have is, she still has the traps (combined) in inventory, even though she says something like "there it's all set."

I am completely at a loss. Please help. Thanks.

P.S. As for Lily's saved games. she has Day 1, Day 2, etc. Does that mean Chapters?

There are left over traps in inventory. Be sure that you placed one of the closet-locker door and at the front door though.

Yes - those days are for the chapters.

MaG: I did place both traps. I replayed the entire Chapter 4, using the w/t completely. It still doesn't go to the end of the chapter. I am also having trouble with using the save games. (I posted in glitches). I am almost at the point of tears! Isn't there a save game from somewhere else? I'd really hate to give up on this game (it is mostly fun) and cost quite a bit, plus there is such a shortage of games now. Thank you for any help.

I downloaded the saved games and sent them to you unzipped.
You can then place them in the saved game folder of Gray Matter.

Rushes says that it is found in My Documents folder for XPs.

Sorry, MaG. When I updated my email address, I didn't do the public email change. Thank you. I also know that the saved games are in documents on Windows7, which I have.

Got it and it worked! Thank you so much.

Am now in the park. Have "sensed" ice cream and gardenia. David can't rent a boat and says he needs more sensory items. I'm assuming I have to walk around some more to get them? No w/t says what. Thanks.

Great that you're moving forward.

Have you done the tree? Be sure to check all the trees by the entrance. The wt states this part.

Well, am now near the end of the game. In the club's "basement." Is this part (as shown in the w/t) as complicated and headache-inducing as it appears? I sure hope not, as I was even thinking of playing this again, since it has such an intriguing plot.

Thanks.
