Rejoice fellow boomers - L.A. Noire is coming to PC. From this thread on the Bioware Social Forums http://www.gameboomers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/ubb/newpost/Board/2.htmlyou'll learn that L.A. Noire will be released for the pc. Here's the word straight from the horse's - or Rockstar's mouth: http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/17161/la-noire-is-coming-for-pc-this-fall.htmlAnd here's a quote: PC gaming aficionados, we hear you. And today, we are very happy to announce that L.A. Noire will be arriving on the PC platform this fall. Developed by Rockstar Leeds and built to run on a wide range of PCs, L.A. Noire's robust feature customization includes keyboard remapping and gamepad functionality to both optimize and customize performance and user experience. Along with increased fidelity and improved graphical enhancements, the PC version will also feature 3D support for an even greater sense of interaction and immersion within a painstakingly detailed 1940s Los Angeles. Kotaku also has the story: http://kotaku.com/5814824/la-noire-headed-to-the-computerA quote from the Kotaku annoncement: The PC version was developed by Rockstar Leeds and will run on a "wide range of PCs and feature customization, including keyboard remapping and gamepad functionality."
Rockstar says the PC version will have increased fidelity and other graphical enhancements as well as 3D support. And I need to start saving up for a new computer...

Thanks Karsten for this great news! I'm playing L.A. Noire right now on XBOX 360 and I am loving it! I don't think it qualifies as a Darkside Game though. Best, Leigh-Anne

Thanks Karsten Presto, has it been pure adventure so far?

It is an action adventure, definitely not pure adventure. My kids have it and I've watched them play. Ana

@Looney4labs, in my opinion it's much more adventure then action. The action parts remind me somewhat of Dreamfall. And those parts can be skipped if you so desire. The gameplay is mostly gathering clues, questioning witnesses and perps, and straight out puzzles. The action bits consist of brief gunfights, chases (both in cars and on foot), and fist fights. When a case is failed for whatever reason, the game gives second chances and third chances. I'm liking it a great deal even if I can't seem to drive very well in the game. Best, Leigh-Anne

I was disappointed that this game wasn't coming for the PC, until I read this post :)Thanks Karsten! Same here, my brother sent me a couple of trailers and i thought this was interesting, i went to Gamespot to find out more only to see that it was for PS3 and X360. Good news that it's coming on the pc.

I like the sound of this game too but unlike my favourite kind of RPG, an Action/Adventure game usually has "real time" fighting with no "pause button" And I'm hopeless at that I'll just have to wait for some more player comments I reckon

Hi Mad On justadventure I've found this info from Lucien21 in this thread: http://justadventure.com/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1308854083/22#22Lucien21 says: There is an open world of LA to drive around in, but it's not all that necessary to do it. You can't speed around causing damage as you get penalised for it after every case. You can't pull your gun out and shoot people unless the case requires you to shoot and all the "action" sequences have an option to skip without penalty if you fail them twice.
You can also fast travel between all the locations by having your partner drive. As one of those who also have trouble with fast action bits in games, I'm really happy to learn about this

I was just over at Steam and see that they have it for download for $49.95. I looked at the computer reequrements and I see that the video card range is probably out of my range. It states that it will run on a Nvidia 8600ST and I have a Nvidia 7800GS. Maybe there are min requirements and my card may work.

This just to let you know that there is a review for the pc version of this game on Gamespy: It can be found at http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/la-noire/1212422p1.htmlA quote from the review's conclusion: That said, there are few videogame stories this absorbing or well-presented, and the game's depiction of 1940s-era Los Angeles -- though almost entirely lacking in extras to discover -- is a glorious sight to behold. The PC version enhances that with higher resolution textures and longer draw distances. The score given is 3/5. There's an editor's note saying this: Editor's Note: Earlier this year, when GameSpy still reviewed console games, Ryan Scott gave L.A. Noire a 4.5. The author of this review, Nathan Grayson, clearly felt differently. While the console and PC versions of L.A. Noire are nearly identical, the core interrogation gameplay mechanic is a divisive issue, thus the widely varied review scores. On Gamasutra, there a blog entry about the inconsitenceis in the narrative. http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/37380/Analysis_Three_Roles_I_Played_In_LA_Noire.phpA quote from this analysis: Still, it's a perfectly workable design decision to say that the protagonist has a distinct personality and that the player doesn't totally control him. But it's not clear what the player is supposed to be accomplishing via interaction instead. Rising to a challenge? Demonstrating understanding of the mystery plot? Testing how far she wants to be complicit in Cole's story? Developing empathy for the characters and learning to treat them as people? The design is not consistent. Spoilers abound in this analysis, even though they are toned down a bit and used only as examples to make the point of the article, I'll advice to read on your own risk.
