Just finished Relics. Some bad things can be said about it, but all n all a decent game. BUT! There was something I never understood (spoiler alert for anyone who is less than 15 minutes into the game!):

Click to reveal..
How did Matt know the ghosts name already the first time he saw her? As far as I could tell, he didn't have any newspaper clippings or other info regarding her murder at that point. All info Matt and the player had at that time were about some other missing person cases. And even more strange; how did Matt immediately know that Nate the math teacher had been her boyfriend? Where did he get that info? To me, it just came right out of the blue.

I even had to restart the game to try to understand this, but I didn't. Did anyone else see or hear something that I didn't?

Hi frazap, I added a spoiler tag to your post just in case anyone who's just started playing the game reads your post.

I'd suggest posting over in Discussions forum on this topic, where likely more people will see and respond to your question. smile

Hi frazap, I know what you are saying because I've played through the game a few times & wondered myself! But there are a few nice subleties in the game so I wonder if we are missing something! or maybe not! smile

It is explained at the very beginning of the game, complete with photo, just before the title screen. I just went back and checked. I agree, frazap, it was a good game but the navigation had me going round in circles!

You're right, of course! Started it upp again and there it was. But it only flashes by at the very beginning. That newspaper article should have found its way into the "Notes" just like the other articles right from the beginning.

I finished it last night and the navigation had me going in circles too. There were a few things I didn't understand, and I'll probably go back to play it. It's not the best I've played, but it was entertaining, and the atmosphere had me jumpy! I think if they did another one I'd buy it.

"So, Holmes. What are we doing now?"
