Me too! My old disk version runs just fine on my Windows 7, but I do have to make a couple of tweaks. A tad over $2 was just too hard to pass up though!

My all-time favorite game!! Ah, brave Christof and the lovely Anezka. Mad and Marian, you're in for a treat! When you're ready to play, I'll join you. Hopefully, Drac will, too!

I will! I had a problem with a saved game late last night and went to bed. Christof has already cleaned out the silver mines. When trying to save Anezka from the bunch of vamps and szlocta (or whatever they're called!), I forgot to watch my health and died. I loaded a previous save and when I got to the scene outside the nunnery, the 3 vamps were already dead, there was nothing in the streets and the nunnery door was locked. Grrr... hope I can get past it tonight.

Hi Sharon - you should definitely go for it! Vampires are such fun! That's a bummer, Drac. I know you've played the game enough to get back quickly. I think the silver mines are tough!

Hi Mad Better get Redemption on GOG! Don't you get the urge to play it again? I've played them both many times.

I've never had this glitch before either playing from my disks on Windows 7. Tried an earlier save and this time Ahzra didn't appear. Going to try an even earlier save this time... very frustrating. I've also found the GOG version won't override previous saves. I think this is my 5th time to play this game and I've never had these issues before.

I'm still using my original disks, too. I couldn't get it to run on Windows 7, but it works fine on XP. That's really a shame you're having those problems. hope you can get it working.
I'm really getting the urge to play now! I'm sure I've played it at least 20 times.

Oh, it works quite nicely on Windows 7. You just have to install in compatibility mode. I have it listed in our Windows 7 and games thread in the Glitches forum.

" I've also found the GOG version won't override previous saves." Heck !! Hope you are able to get sorted, Draclvr !! I can overwrite saves running the GOG version in WinXP. [There are only 12 saves though so can't go too mad.]

Well, I went from Grrr... to outright snarling. Any previous save I went back to had problems with missing characters and no way to continue in the game. I uninstalled it, ran CCleaner on the registry and am going to try it one more time. If the issues are still there, I'll let GOG know and just install it from my disks.

Yes, I do. The original disks work on Windows 7 when installed in compatibility mode. I just have to go through applying the patch to update it to version 1.1 so I can save anywhere. Now this makes me even more annoyed - when I uninstalled the game, my download also disappeared. Moving from snarling to the next level...

Now this makes me even more annoyed - when I uninstalled the game, my download also disappeared. I've never seen that happen with a GOG game. Are you sure your hard drive isn't having issues?

I've never had it happen before either. Actually, something wonky is going on somewhere in my Windows 7 and I can't figure it out. I thought the hard drive first, but some odd things are happening on my Windows 8 drive too, so it's got to be hardware somewhere. I am going to post a quick question down in Glitches.

Hi There are bits in the game where (pathetic fighter that I am) I know I will need to use God Mode temporarily - so I tried it yesterday. However, running the GOG version in WinXP, although I can call up the console and get the pulsing cursor on the black line, whatever cheat I type in just gets me a reply of "unrecognised command" Does anyone know how I might fix this ?? Help always much appreciated !! Thanks. Mad

Hi looney4labs Yes, thank you, I saw that long thread at GOG but couldn't find any solution given for XP. And I posted on that forum myself after reading it - but no reply has come as yet. I was however hoping a GB player might be able to help me. I know a lot of people here like the game as much as I do and that many of them are far better at it than I am !! Cheers. Mad

So glad to hear you are playing again, Draclvr !! Are you playing in Win7 again ?? I'm playing the GOG version in XP and can't get the cheats to work. I can bring the console bar up alright but any cheat I type in provokes the "Unrecognised command" response

Yes, the components for my new machine are being gathered but then it will have to be built and tested etc. [All in my Son in Law's spare time.] So it won't be ready for a while. Even so, I'd have to start the game from the beginning again and I won't want to do that when I've got so far into it

I've just finished replaying VM Redemption and had the same problem with console when trying to enable God Mode. It just reported "unrecognised command". Discussion here steered me toward solution, so here's how I enabled it: I played it on laptop with Win XP. Laptop has non US keyboard so non US keyboard layout was set in Windows. I just switched to standard US layout. And opened console with "shift" + "`" That was the culprit!!! If you just open console by pressing "`" (key under "Esc") it wont work! It actually has to be "~" (without quotation marks of course). Then all cheat codes entered worked. Hope this helps.
