Tomorrow's release sort of gave me a turn when I saw it. One of the things I treasure about BFG is the fact that when I buy a game, it's mine, and that's the only money I will need to spend on it.
Facebook and iPhone/iPad options are loaded with these "in-game purchase" babies, where you really do need to spend and keep spending to really get ahead. Oh, of course you can "play for free," but it will take you much longer to do anything successfully, and you won't be able to earn most of the "cool stuff."
As you can probably tell, I'm not keen on them, and tend to avoid them overall. (I'm not keen on tower defense" games anyway, but that's beside the point.)
What do you all think, fellow Boomers? I sort of shuddered on this one, and I hope it's not a coming trend!!
PS Some new info--Evidently, this was also released earlier as a regular download on BFG, did not receive good reviews or sales, and is now being recycled. The folks on the forum there aren't too happy.
PPS BFG has taken it down--oh, whoopsie? Anyway, I'm not really a blithering idiot....

Well, I'm evidently not crazy, because it's there as one of today's three new releases. However, it has also been withdrawn, but with this statement in the withdrawal. I just wanted to swim in with an update regarding the switch in the TGT's today.
We are very excited about our Free to Play offerings, and we are anxious to have you all experience them. So this may yet be an issue, but the remarks concerning it are very strong. Thanks for your kind remarks though. Marian and I are nearly neighbors, so we have the same time zone.

They are not given as the "Tomorrow's Game Today" and they are added a soft release so that should not interrupt any daily offerings. They are also very clear on the matter of the fact you can purchase in-game items. I announced the game here. Since no one forces you to make purchases, I think it's a fine option for those that are interested. Zynga does this on their FaceBook games and they are a great success. Ana

I quit playing Farmville a couple years ago and have ended some Iphone games I had as well as soon as I see you need cash to get ahead and fully enhance the game. I personally want nothing to do with any of them. I just figure there are many people out there who either enjoys them very much or chooses to play and fork over money hand over fist while complaining about it chronically because that is what I see come across my Facebook feed all day long. They must be gluttens for punishment, but the bottom line is, it is their choice. To limit the offerings is to deny someone their choice of gaming which I do not agree with. If I never see another hidden object scene in my life, I would be happy, but to ask that they not be offered anymore would deny the millions who enjoy them. The great thing about BigFish is that offer many different kinds of gaming so that no matter your pleasure, it's available to you. Ana

Numerous people on the BFG forum have asked for games other then hidden object games because they are tired of seeing them. It was pointed out to these people they were not obligated to buy hidden games, and that there are those who enjoy them.
It boils down to buying what you like, not buying what you don't. If one genre doesn't suit your taste, try something else. Plain and simple.
If something gets your goat, it just proves you have a goat to get.

Like Ana, Cynder, just expressing my opinion. Which is just my view on the subject, and not a requirement for others to follow.
I do believe, though, some developers do go overboard with a specific game genre. Some will not vary from the type games they develop, but others will flow with the hottest selling genre at the time. As a result, those who stay with their chosen genre produce very fine games. Those who flow with sales many times produce wanna-be looking games.

Sharon many feel the same, and for the same reasons. I can get into the hidden object mood, and just as quickly want something else. Which helps keep my interest in hidden object games when in the mood.
Because you like hidden object games you're more than likely going to play several. If you notice, as I did, some are better quality than others. Some hidden object games have hidden object scenes with very good graphics, it's as though each object is a separate item in the scene. Whereas others have what appear to be nothing more than pictures dropped into the scene. It's these latter ones I find difficult to play because picture graphics don't give as clear an image in the items.
If something gets your goat, it just proves you have a goat to get.

Sharon, I agree. Needing to find something only to uncover something else is a pain, and slows down game play. Especially if the hidden object image is poor quality.
I've played enough where everything was out in the open, along with a zillion more, making it just as difficult finding something. The more items in a scene, the harder it is for the eyes to focus on a single object.
