My dog is worried about the economy because Alpo is up to 99 cents a can. That's almost $7.00 in dog money.

Rules For Flight

There is a lot pilots have to take into account when hulling your ass across the sky...

1. Every takeoff is optional. Every landing is mandatory.

2. If you push the stick forward, the houses get bigger. If you pull the stick back, they get smaller. That is, unless you keep pulling the stick all the way back, then they get bigger again.

3. Flying isn't dangerous. Crashing is what's dangerous.

4. It's always better to be down here wishing you were up there than up there wishing you were down here.

5. The ONLY time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.

6. The propeller is just a big fan in front of the plane used to keep the pilot cool. When it stops, you can actually watch the pilot start sweating.

7. When in doubt, hold on to your altitude. No one has ever collided with the sky.

8. A 'good' landing is one from which you can walk away. A 'great' landing is one after which they can use the plane again.

9. Learn from the mistakes of others. You won't live long enough to make all of them yourself.

10. You know you've landed with the wheels up if it takes full power to taxi to the ramp.

11. The probability of survival is inversely proportional to the angle of arrival. Large angle of arrival, small probability of survival and vice versa.

12. Never let an aircraft take you somewhere your brain didn't get to five minutes earlier.

13. Stay out of clouds. The silver lining everyone keeps talking about might be another airplane going in the opposite direction. Reliable sources also report that mountains have been known to hide out in clouds.

14. Always try to keep the number of landings you make equal to the number of take offs you've made.

15. There are three simple rules for making a smooth landing. Unfortunately no one knows what they are.

16. You start with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.

17. Helicopters can't fly; they're just so ugly the earth repels them.

18. If all you can see out of the window is ground that's going round and round and all you can hear is commotion coming from the passenger
compartment, things are not at all as they should be.

19. In the ongoing battle between objects made of aluminum going hundreds of miles per hour and the ground going zero miles per hour, the ground has yet to lose.

20. Good judgment comes from experience. Unfortunately, the experience usually comes from bad judgment.

21. It's always a good idea to keep the pointy end going forward as much as possible.

22. Keep looking around. There's always something you've missed.

23. Remember, gravity is not just a good idea. It's the law. And it's not subject to repeal.

24. The four most useless things to a pilot are the altitude above you, runway behind you, gas back at the airport, and a tenth of a second ago.

25. There are old pilots and there are bold pilots. There are, however, no old, bold pilots.

Riding A Dead Horse

Old tribal wisdom says that when you discover you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount. Businesses, however, often try other strategies. These include...

1. Buying a stronger whip.

2. Changing riders.

3. Saying things like "This is the way we always have ridden this horse"

4. Appointing a committee to study the horse.

5. Arranging to visit other sites to see how they ride dead horses.

6. Increasing the standards to ride dead horses.

7. Appointing a tiger team to revive the dead horse.

8. Creating a training session to increase our riding ability.

9. Comparing the state of dead horses in today's environment.

10. Change the requirements declaring that "This horse is not dead".

11. Hire contractors to ride the dead horse.

12. Harnessing several dead horses together for increased speed.

13. Declaring that "No horse is too dead to beat."

14. Providing additional funding to increase the horse's performance.

15. Do a CA Study to see if contractors can ride it cheaper.

16. Purchase a product to make dead horses run faster.

17. Declare the horse is now "better, faster and cheaper."

18. Form a quality circle to find uses for dead horses.

19. Revisit the performance requirements for horses.

20. Say this horse was procured with cost as an independent variable.

21. Promote the dead horse to a supervisory position.

Good morning everyboomie. wave

Happy Sumday morning! wink

The great reunion continues as more of the nieces & nephews come down to see Granny Lilley, who is ready to arm wrestle the Dr. for the right to go home. yes

Most of them will be leaving to go back home later though, and I will be going in to close tonight, but the good news is I'm off the next two days. woot

Even better news is that I won 20 million dollars in lottery last night. penguin

And the best news is that my doctor told me I'm perfectly healthy and that I'll live forever. yay

Unfortunately better and best haven't quite happened yet, so for now I'll have to be content with my two days off. grin

But will I be?

You'd better believe it! dance

Have a happy day everyone.

Hello and have a great Sunday Joe, manxman and all who come in after me. wave

It's late Saturday night for me, but I have a very early workday tomorrow, especially considering that time change. (I don't like that time change. lol) Plus, I may be watching the Dreamfall Chapters Twitch TV before I go to work, so I wanted to get my post in now. wink

Hope everyone here has a terrific Sunday, and see you in the afternoon. winter

lol Are we still not allowed to read the diner?

Have a happy day everyone! I will be working late tonight, getting up early to walk in the woods with my sister from Indiana and the dogs and then off to my niece's baby shower and home to work. No stress...nope... none at all. grin

Good Sumday lol morning Boomies

Rain here, but temps are rising. Spring is just around the corner. Yipeeeeee... I was in the Hospice trying to get my Dad to eat 1 spoonfull of soup. Sigh. Tomorrow we will have a family meeting with the Doc. He will tell us what to expect in the near future. As if life is following our expectations... duh

Joe: I'am praying that Granny Lilley will be able to come home tomorrow without first wrestling the Doctor. Hugs to you too my friend!

Ana: Murphey still a neighbour of yours? I hope you can relax a bit! Hugs!

Nan: you are such a kind Lady. Hugs to you.

To all Boomies: have a wonderful Sunday and hopefully also a Funday...

Love!

Evelyne

Super Sunday ya'll puppy

Evelyne and Joe, hugs and prayers.

We have another beautiful day out there today. I think son works tonight so letting him sleep in, but will stick my head in the door to tell him it's 11 in a few minutes. The Cully is up but playing on the fire and chattering to Soot and I.

I was up much too late reading...drat that Wheel of Time series anyway. puppy

Hi all.

Gotta go fix lunch soon. Oh yeah, Bill said noon today since we got up late. But I do need to go set some clocks.

See ya later.

I'm back.

Was going to go to Walmart but it started raining and has been raining ever since. From the looks of my front yard, we need an ark. lol

Got the crockpot going with a yummy brisket cooking. Susie and Vince will be over this afternoon.

I'm going to go play a quick game before lunch.

Bets

Good afternoon boomies. I had a lovely morning with sis and we took a very wet walk. Everything is flooded and between the melting snow and rain our creek is overflowing and much of my walking area was under 8 inches of water. It was fun but we had to hold on to each other a few times so as not to fall on the ice. lol

The bridal shower was great but the ride home was interesting. Humidity is 100% so visibility is pretty much limited to whats flat in front of your face. Between the fog and pouring rain it was a long 25 miles. eek

Are we enjoying our Sunday?

Nan, I grumbled awake this morning and I've been grumbling since. I hate losing sleep and of all days when I had to get up.
Where did you get kidnapped to? I hope it was fun!

My daughter was freezing at the shower today and she just called to say she is in bed with the fever, aches and flu. Oy...

Hi Bets wave Please say hi to Susie for me. I hope you enjoyed your day. I worked another split shift. Same for tomorrow. I need to make up the two days I couldn't go to work because we got so much snow.

Oh Ana. I hope your daughter feels better tomorrow. Hugs.

I need to get to bed shortly As 5:30 rolls around way too quickly. Have a good night all.
