How don't they match, deleterman? Are you stuck somewhere?
I really enjoyed this game. Hope you do!

Which have you been following the more closely -- the written walkthrough, or the video version? Stick with whichever one is most familiar to you. Or watch more of that other player's videos and see if they cover the parts that you are stuck on at a different time.
Or tell us exactly what it is that you're currently needing to do in the game, and we'll try and point you in the right direction.

Here's another walkthrough deleterman. The part you want is a little over 3/4 of the way down, I think. See if that's clearer. There seems to be more info here than there is in the one you're following. Good luck! Gil.

Oh, I hate that when you can't figure out what you missed and HAVE to do to go on. I'm afraid I'm tapped out, deleterman, since I'm not playing that game right now. (Going nuts in a replay of Post Mortem. ) When Rushes comes back you might get more help. Gil.

Hi deleterman, You shouldn't need to go back to an earlier save. Let's check over a few steps: When you spoke to Dorko, did she ask you to get the amulet for her? In the library, did you pick up the fallen letter and read it? Did you manoeuvre the light beam correctly so that it shone back at the desk and opened up the top panel with all the pictures? If the desk panels have opened up, you should be able to click on the roll-top part just below the panels to bring it into close-up, and then again on the active spot to open up the drawer itself.

First, be sure that you have the enamel plate from Dracula's bedroom. This from UHS Hints: At the top of the (library) ladder, you should see a crank. Turn the crank to move the ladder. There is something interesting on the wall behind the books. It appears to be a light of some kind. There is something in the library that needs to be fixed first. It is somewhere nearby, on the bookshelves. Starting with your back to the door (where you entered from the balcony), move forward two times. Turn to the shelves on your right. Look for an oval-shaped opening on the shelves. It is at the fourth set of shelves from the corner, between the third and fourth shelf of books. Use the enamel plate with the eye. Go back to the ladder. Turn on the light again.

I think that's the problem - you still haven't directed the light in the library. You can't open the drawer until you do that. You should have been in Dracula's bedroom to get the ball. The enamel plate was in the trunk in the room. An object in the trunk opens up to reveal the plate.
