Watch this video wt at around 2:24. It might help. Be sure that you have been asked by Mustavio and also seen the Minotaur maze puzzle first.

Hi robert, To receive the maze figurines you need to find Mustavio's wine barrels -- which I believe are different to the crates, and in a different place. The barrels can be found in a secret cellar behind this magical lock: Do you recall seeing it anywhere? Here's a (long) description from Gimli's walkthrough on how to find it, which might help if Witchen's isn't helping: Go back to the academy entrance hall, up the right staircase to the top, turn right and immediately after the bookcase on the left turn the corner and go down the stairs, go left, cross the room and afterwards the bridge, cross the study room (in the open) to the right and this time, out of curiosity, you don’t go down (at least for the time being) but up the stairs on the right wall. Enter the dining room and to the right the kitchen area. Examine the rooms! Take from a table the last pages of the notebook. Read it and learn about the tree leaves that are necessary for the transformation potion. In the kitchen itself note the floating fireball (you can brew the potion here if you have everything that’s needed!), and in the pantry the elevator. Get in and you will find yourself in the wine cellar were you’ll find, on the same floor a bit to the right, the wine barrels of Mustavio. Go down the stairs and to the left again and down another few stairs and open the door to the elevator machine room. Pull the lever on the left and look how a lift is coming down. Go out of the room and note the cauldron in the left corner. Would be perfect to brew the potion to transform Zak into a dragon, but it is too heavy for you to lift. Left of the cauldron is an archway, but it’s walled up. Why that? Could that be a secret door? Nothing further to do here so let’s control that walled up door. That must lead to the cellar behind. Go up the stairs and back with the elevator to the kitchen and up the next stairs to the dining room. Cross the room and leave through the door you came in. Go down the stairs and immediately left and left again to the garden. At the bottom of the stairs go right and along the paved path to the cellar rooms. Go down three flights of stairs and then go forward until you find in the wall a blue crystal and written on the wall three letters. That’s a magical lock. Open it!

Robert, I'm not sure. I have the game but have not played it. However, I took a look at the game manual and there is an explanation for what the downward arrow does, which reads as follows. This is the only downward arrow that the manual mentions that I could find. This is not a cursor but a handy tool that indicates exactly where Lydia is standing on the screen. This pointer is displayed over Lydia's head when you click on the right mouse button. If this is the downward arrow you mean, I'm not sure why it would prevent you from saving and quitting. Maybe someone else will be able to explain this.

Hi Robert, here is what it says in a different walkthrough than the one you are using; this starts from where the owl steals the diadem (in this walkthrough, the diadem is called a circlet): Go down the stairs and across the footbridge where Winterowl swoops down and steals Lydia's circlet and then mysteriously disappears through a wall. The duo automatically follows to arrive at the Sanctuary, apart from the academy itself.
Go forward. Zak finds the circlet where Winterowl dropped it and a ghost appears! Wow! Zak was right. There is a ghost. This ghost needs help. Click on him and complete all conversation choices. The ghost is that of Grandmaster Nightingale. Let us know if this helps.

I'm probably missing something too. Okay, according to the walkthrough that you are following, here is the sequence about the owl stealing the diadem: Go to the bridge between the north tower and the library. The owl will steal your diadem and whoooosh, flies directly into the wall (make a mental note of the exact spot where she vanished!). Follow her and meet the ghost of Nightingale, one of the founders of the Dragonvale Academy, in front of the holy hall (9). Ask every question. So, apparently you need to follow the owl, and you will end up in front of the holy hall, where you speak to the ghost of Nightingale. If you have a saved game prior to the owl stealing the diadem that isn't too far back from where you are now, maybe you could try replaying the game before that pesky owl comes along and then try to follow the owl? Alternatively, you could try to go to the holy hall and see if the ghost is there. And maybe someone else will come along who has some better suggestions.

Hi Robert, try taking a look at this video on YouTube, which starts after you have had that long talk with Grandmaster Nightingale. Maybe this will help: Keepsake video walkthrough The Watch Tower is also called by the name of the North Tower; they are the same location. This really looks like a complicated game.

That's strange - the video works just fine for me. Sorry about that. Let me see if I can find other help for you at this point in the game. EDIT: It seems that you leave the Sanctuary the same way you got in, which is through the blue portal, and you then arrive at the West Tower Skyway. To get to the Watchtower from the West Tower Skyway, you go around the balcony and back down the footbridge to the area with the red and yellow disks. Go to the right of the yellow disk. If necessary, wait again for completion of conversation between Lydia and Zak. Then, go to the floating ball, screen right. Click on it to hear Lydia deactivate the lock with the "Dragonus Enferenis" spell. You can also refer to your in-game map to help you figure out how to get to these locations.

Check this You tube - ball Keepsake video walkthrough. You can check the other chapters on the right column. Why don't you keep the address of this video page and refer to the rest of the video as you go along on the game.

Hi robert,
Yes, you'll need that meteorite in its container. As far as I can tell, it will appear when the puzzle is correctly solved, and you'll need to click on it to pick it up into your inventory.
Checking against Witchen's walkthrough here as comparison:
In the eye piece, and when all four hot spot numbers in the constellation are lit simultaneously, and no others, you will be awarded with a STAR FRAGMENT (Aeterna) in an ornate container. This is the first of the four required sacred items as told by the Grandmaster's ghost. Leave the Observatory, going down all the stairs and using the blue disk to return to the East Tower Fountain Hall area. Go left to return to the glass globe resting on the wooden stand. Click on it once to see that you are able to magically change the seasons in the Solarium. Change the globe setting, so the season displayed is SUMMER. Go to the other side of the tower and take the sky bridge to Nathaniel's office. Click on the floating ball above one corner of the desk. Use "Dragonus Enferenis" to deactivate the lock here.

If you know where the saved game folder is located; make a new folder and label it with a description that you will know. Then copy paste the saved games you have in that folder. You can then overwrite the old saved game folder. Do another folder for your next set of 8.

According to the walkthrough, the three yellow disks are already lit, so: There are four controllers around the periphery of the room. Go to the upper left controller. It's dull gray and sitting at about 10 o'clock. Click on the floating circle to shut it off. The yellow disks in the center go dark. You must do this first to clear all the circuitry. to you. If you go to Mixed Bag, more birthday wishes await you.

Hi Robert, this does indeed seem tricky. Have you followed these instructions in the walkthrough? Leave the Laboratory by way of the balcony on the opposite side of the work table. Take the yellow disk to the next node. Then, take the next yellow disk to the three disk balcony. Take the black disk to the West Tower, the main transporter room. Go screen forward, out to the courtyard. Go left into the foyer of the MainTower, down the stairs toward the study area. Go right, out to the balcony. Use the red disk to go to the interim red node. Go forward and use the second red disk. You'll arrive at the North Tower. Go forward down the steps and across the West Tower skyway. Walk around to the back side of the balcony to find an alcove with a stairway and an elegantly carved dragon door. Go on into the Secret Library.

Wow, congratulations, Robert - you have made a lot of progress. After finishing the Art Room puzzles, according to the walkthrough you should then go to the forge: It is time to revisit The Forge. Go through the blue portal outside the Art Room and use the red disk to return to the West Tower. Use the yellow disk on the 3 disk balcony, to descend to the yellow node. Go forward to the second yellow disk to move to the Laboratory. Go inside, then back screen out to the sky bridge. Follow around to the back of the balcony. Use the red disk there to move to the Atrium area. Go down the left stairs and go up the right stairs. Use the blue disk to arrive back at The Forge. Inside, witness another discussion of Zak's condition and his desire to be a human being again.
