Full 4-episode series for PC/Mac will be on Steam, GOG, CognitionGame.com, and other online stores

You can view the screens here.

You can view the final Trailer here.

Quote:
SAN JOSE, Calif. - September 6, 2013 - Three years ago, Scott Reed died at the hands of the Cain Killer, a serial murderer who targets siblings. On September 19, Scott's sister Erica will finally close in on justice in the exciting conclusion of Phoenix Online Studios' episodic adventure, Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller. Upon the finale's September 19 release, the full Cognition series for PC/Mac will arrive on Steam and GOG for the first time, with these outlets joining CognitionGame.com and other online stores where the series has been releasing episodically.

Cognition is a paranormal thriller with a graphic novel aesthetic, classic point-and-click adventure gameplay, and a gripping storyline. FBI agent Erica Reed has a secret weapon for tracking down killers: a "sixth sense" that reveals flashes of the past so she can piece together how a crime unfolded. When she starts finding clues at crime scenes that seem to have been left specifically for her, she suspects that someone knows her secret -- are they trying to help, or luring her into a trap? In the series' high-stakes conclusion, past and present converge when the details of Scott's death are revealed and Erica comes face to face with his murderer. But during the final showdown between clairvoyant and serial killer, even Erica's paranormal powers might not be enough to stop the Cain Killer from finishing what he started.

The 4-episode Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller has been releasing quarterly since October 2012. Partially funded by a successful Kickstarter campaign, the series was developed by a passionate indie team with help from veteran adventure game designer Jane Jensen (Gabriel Knight, Gray Matter), who consulted on the story. Cognition's long-awaited Steam release follows a 10-month Greenlight effort that amassed more than 25k votes from the gaming community.

To celebrate the season finale, Phoenix will hold an online release party and live stream at 2:00pm Eastern time on September 19. Fans who have been following the series episodically or new players curious about Cognition are invited to join the developers, Jane Jensen, and other special guests to chat about the series, adventure games, indie game development, and more. Additional details will be posted at http://youtube.com/postudios leading up to the event.

Those who don't want to wait two weeks to dive in to this gripping adventure can visit CognitionGame.com to read up on the series and purchase individual episodes or a 4-episode Season Pass. For a full list of online stores that currently offer Cognition for PC and Mac, visit http://store.postudios.com/pages/other-places-to-buy.

Happy Gaming!

I have to say, that I'm some what disapointed in the releasing schedule for Cognition and The Dream Machine - the episodes are so far apart from each other that you really can't recall everything that has happened.
The studios are small ok, and TDM is handmade, but still. Or is it just that TellTale made it look easy with it's episodic games, releasing almost every episode monthly?

But still, I'm looking forward to this!

Thanks Ana, and everyone! smile

We would've liked to have smaller gaps between episodes as well, and believe me, we made them as short as we could. TellTale has made it look a little easy too razz I think whenever we next try the episodic model, we're going to really aim hard to make that happen!

I hope folks can join us for the livestream, too!

Katie, I think you all did an awesome job on the game and it's reviews certainly show that. I'd rather something take a bit more time and come out polished. Well done and congrats!

Thanks so much, Ana and Katie. This is such a fascinating game and it surely is worth the wait for Episode 4. I am one of those gamers who pre-ordered this series from PO Studios
Sandy.

Just started to play Cognition with on venus's recommendation. This game is great so far. (I'm only on Episode 1.) It reminds me a lot of Still Life.

Wow! I just got an email with the site to download Episode 4 and am downloading as I type this. Can't wait to play it. I think that I will start all over with episode 1 and work my way forward so that everything is fresh in my mind.

Hi mag, I just downloaded Episode 4 and started playing it already. The intro scene was fantastic. Of course this brings me to my next comment which is: I'm ready for you, Mag, but take your time. LOL

Wow, I can't believe I missed the notification on this board but am glad that it's here anyway. That's what I get for not doing a search. duh

Will be tackling the game later today.
