More Tom Swifties.(For example "I'll have a martini," said Tom, drily.) As ever, grovelling apologies for any re-runs. Some of these are very clever and quite tough, so being all heart, I've given you first letter and length as a starter · -1. "How long will I have to wait for a table?" asked Tom w------ r----------. -2. "I'm learning to play a concert piano," said Tom g------. -3. "I don't think I'll have the pickled fish today," said Tom u---------. -4. "I hate shellfish," said Tom c-------. -5. "I hope you're not afraid of needles," Tom i-------. -6. "I will NOT shell out for a circuit-breaker," Tom r------. -7. ."It's a kind of Chinese soup," said Tom w-------. -8. "I'm the Court entertainer," Tom j-----. -9. "I've forgotten the German word for 'four'," Tom said f---------. -10. “You have the right to remain silent,” said Tom a----------.
To waste one second of one's life is a betrayal of one's self. I wonder what's on television...?

manxman, CCb - good answers! Cheryl - that's an excellent answer, (which I may steal - keep an eye open for it in future "Tom's"), but one letter too long. My answer is almost a synonym of yours - what would Tom use instead of a circuit breaker?
