There's a thread going on at the Adventure Game Studio Forums that some of you might really like.
Members are dragging out their original boxes and posting photos of them, including all the extra goodies that came with the games.
If you hit a dry spell, just keep scrolling down.
Indy is there two or three times, Myst, Monkey Island, Sam and Max Hit the Road, the original Quest for Glory: So You Want to Be a Hero, Leisure Suit Larry, Dinotopia and some I'd never heard of before, not being around when PC games like this came out.
It's really mind-blowing how great the box art was and how much "other stuff" was included with the games.
Anyway, I enjoyed looking at them and I thought some of you might, too.

I couldn't help thinking of the only game I have that includes goodies like this, Last Half of Darkness: Tomb of Zojir.

Sigh, I love downloads but this really takes you back to what was once great about boxes.

Gil.

Those pictures bring back some great memories, Gil. The old Infocom boxed text adventure games always used to have interesting stuff in them. It was so much fun opening that box for the first time. smile

I don't intend parting with any of my lovely old boxes and their contents .... EVER !! whistle

And when I acquire versions of oldies tweaked to play on today's machines, that version then goes in the box with its relevant oldie too yes

[In fact I won't admit how many versions I've got of some of them. Although I have finally been forced to dispense with the 5.8 floppies as not even my oldest machine has the facility for those, now cry]

It's great having my own private Game Museum lol

Memories...I have a few boxes in the basement. Maybe I'll drag them out!
