It took me all day to download all three parts but I did it, and after unzipping it it runs just fine! I seemed to have missed this last year, and cannot find any discussion on GB about it....did no one else get stuck trying to find the puzzles? I have wandered around in this maze complex but cannot find the Control Panel that I need to fix in order to power things up......was there ever a walkthrough for this game? I've seen the hint files and know WHAT I am supposed to do, but cannot find WHERE to do it....have also looked at the map - too bad it does not identify the area one is in, just shows you where you are - but in relation to what?

Thanks MaG, you're the greatest. Funny thing, I guess I did not go far enough when I was in the reactor room, saw the down hand but did not realize I could GO down! slapforehead And I just know I am going to enjoy this one.....

Bettylou ... this sounds like a fun game! Where can I find it? Haven't had any luck with searches
Thanks in advance!

I've gotten myself confused here - I am supposed to return to the assembler control panel in the assembler room, seem to have lost just where this is ~ I am, afterall, directionally challenged! ~ I am supposed to enter new settings for hyperion but the only panels I can find and look at are for the Xeon settings - which one do I need and how to I change the ITEM to HYPERION?
P.S. I am, of course, using the walkthru.....

I would be glad to help! smile The Key is a little confusing; here is the basic idea.

To find the assembler room: if you start a new game, you are in the power room. If you go ahead one step, turn right, go straight twice, turn right, go straight two times (maybe 3 - you want to be one step away from the door), turn left, go to the end of the hall (3 steps), turn left, and go ahead, you will be in the right room!

A simple way to find it: in The Key there is a menu item that says something like "Show Map". Clicking on this will give you a map of the current location, with your position marked with an orange dot. If you start a new game, you will be in the power room. If you pull up the map, you will see your position on the left side of the screen and a large room to the right side of the screen. That large room (which has the blue field barring the way to a large circular machine) is the assembler room. The assembler panel is a large black panel in that room: if you are facing the glowing blue field, turn left, and the panel will be right there. (If I am not clear, let me know and I will try to explain it again.)

To change the ITEM to hyperion, you have to enter the hyperion settings into the assembler. What you are doing is having the atomic assembler produce hyperion; it will automatically deliver it to the reactor. Once the reactor has it you can set up the reactor to ues it and you will get more power.

I believe you can find the assembler settings for hyperion (which tells the machines how to produce this fuel) at a panel by the assembler itself. If you go into the assembler room (the room with the big blue field) you will see a blue field barring the way. If you click on the assembler panel, you will see an item that will allow you to turn off the field. You can then go into that room and you will find a panel beside the circular machine; I think the hyperion assembler settings are there. (After leaving this room don't forget to turn the field back on.)

As for the settings to get the fuel to work: on the way to the assembler room is a small side-room with a lot of barrels and crates in it. There is a small panel on the wall there; I believe it has on it the settings the reactor needs to use hyperion. (I wish I could check for sure but I don't have access to a copy of the game at this very minute.)

If all of this sounds too complicated to follow, there is another way. The game has a built-in hint system (accessible via a menu item) that will give a small hint, a medium hint, or the answer. If you stand in front of the power plant panel and click on 'Give Answer' it will give you the exact settings you need to get it to work. If you stand in front of the assembler panel and click on 'Give Answer' it will give you the exact assembler settings you need.

I feel like I am explaning this very badly! If none of this is helpful let me know and I will try again. smile

sincerely,
Jonathan K. Cooper

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for taking the time and dropping by to help us. Much appreciated and we're honored.

Much success to you and to all your games.
