...I'd ban mazes in adventure games for all time. Just reached chapter 7 of Moebius and am currently
enduring one of these things. I thought they had died out with the Grue. I can't believe Jane Jensen has resurrected one of the most loathed tropes of adventuring.
Is this close to the end of the game? If so I think I'll knock this one on the head and move on to BS5 before I lose the will to live.

One of our GameBoomers members, Tally Ho, was just talking the other day about how much he hates mazes. Lots of folks feel that way.

For what it's worth, MaG had this to say about the maze in Moebius:

Quote:
There are clues to tell you where to go in the maze. I think I only checked the route of 2-4 entryways and they all circle back. It's a fairly easy maze.

So, maybe it won't be as bad as you think. grin

Wow, not only a maze but a timed puzzle as well. The water effects for the timed bit slow my comp down to a crawl so I can't reach the end in time. What makes is worse is you have you go through the whole pic a picture thing again. This chapter 7 has to be a new low in adventure gaming. Truly awful. I was enjoying the game up to this point.

Just use the walkthrough.
It doesn't take long to get through it with the walkthrough.

And the untimed part of the maze actually has the
Click to reveal..
Big Dipper clues
which points the way to go.

Yes I got past the Dipper part, it's the timed bit I won't be able to get through. It appears this is right near the end of the game so I think I'll just give this one up.

Check the end of Mag's walkthrough

The timed bit doesn't take long to get through.
Just don't make too many false steps.

I'm so glad I read your post mj2c. I was a big fan of Jane Jensen's whole King's Quest series and surely would have bought this game just on her rep alone. I will avoid it like the plague now. Bad enough to have a maze (which I don't mind all that much, and it wouldn't deter me) but to have timed [blip] or arcade sequence to have to sweat through over and over until you finally get it -- that's the Death Sentence on a game for me. I have had to bail on at least four "Adventure" games recently because of that very thing. Sorry to hear your frustration.

Moebius is wonderful, it would be sad to avoid it because of the maze at the end, which is extremely easy to get through with MaG's walkthrough. And the timed bit is nothing to worry about, I've gone through it easily. Still, you would not miss much if you were to play the whole thing and give up at the end maze. It would still be worth playing it.

It took me fifteen years to finally see the final of Gabriel Knight 2 The Beast Within because of that maze at the end, and yet I played it countless times. This is Jane all over, even Gray Matter has this nightmare maze final. But... we still love her and her fabulous elaborate adventures.
