I was thrilled with the remaster of this great game. I'm also happy to say I didn't experience any hangs or crashes on my computer. In fact, even without the patch, I had no issues with the game at all. Love your review, gremlin - thank you!

Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

I didn't have any hangs or crashes either. I only got stuck once where I couldn't walk out of a corner, but using the keyboard got me unstuck.

I had one hang...(spoiler describes where it hung)
Click to reveal..
It was just after going into the forest and getting the driver's heart back. We were in the car ready to go but it hung there.

...and it hung hard. I couldn't even Ctrl-Alt-Del out of it. Unfortunately it had been so well behaved up to that point that I hadn't saved in a long time. I still haven't gone back yet to do the steps over to catch up, but I will. I learned my lesson though, like voting in Chicago, save early and save often.

I never played it the first time around and can see now why it is held in such high regard.

Thanks for your valued review, gremlin smile

Haven't yet started the game myself but am hoping NOT to experience any freezes etc eek

[The only hang-up I experienced with the original release was the one many others came up against. The one in the conveyor belt area.]

Thank you also, Jenny100 grin

Really enjoying the remastered game so far (I've made it to the start of day 4).
No hangups, per se (I've got a new computer).
My only disappointment, and it's a BIG one...is that there are only eight saved-game slots. I don't know why in this day and age creating endless saved-game slots is such a big deal for most developers (there have been plenty of adventure games with endless saved game slots, big and small-budget games), but this is definitely a game that could use more than eight slots.
Other than that, the game is as fun and well-executed as it always was.AND looks even better this time around (especially with the character modeling).

I agree robedits that unlimited saves shouldn't be a big deal and that feature should be there.

I believe in this game there aren't any ways to truly go down a wrong path that you can't recover from, so all you really need is a recent save in case of a crash. Can someone confirm this for me or correct me please?

I'm not sure, Bob, but that sounds about right. I don't recall there being any dead-ends in this game.

FOr me,the game is not THAT difficult, but even if it's to go back after finishing this game...I'd like to have been able to save the game at a few junctures per chapter to re-visit certain scenes, etc.

I hear that you can play with a mouse now. Does it work well?

Thanks a lot for the great review, Gremlin! bravo

I've had high expectations for the lovingly and meticulously created remaster of this classic, and certainly on the basis of this review, this game will stay at the top of my 'to play' list!
