Bethesda Softworks has just officiale revealed that there will indeed be a Fallout 4. Here's the full press release: June 3, 2015 (Rockville, MD) – Bethesda Softworks®, a ZeniMax® Media company, today confirmed the upcoming global release of Fallout® 4, the next generation of open-world gaming. The world premiere of the game will take place during Bethesda’s E3 Showcase being held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California on June 14th beginning at 7pm PST, and streamed live around the world via Twitch and YouTube.Fallout 4 is being developed for Xbox One, PlayStation® 4 computer entertainment system and PC by award-winning Bethesda Game Studios® under the direction of Todd Howard. This eagerly-awaited game is the follow up to the 2008 ‘Game of the Year’, Fallout® 3, and the first title from the world-renowned studio since the release of their global phenomenon and 2011 ‘Game of the Year’, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim®. “We know what this game means to everyone,” said Game Director, Todd Howard, “The time and technology have allowed us to be more ambitious than ever. We’ve never been more excited about a game, and we can’t wait to share it.” The game’s official trailer, created in-game at Bethesda Game Studios, can be viewed at: www.fallout4.com. Fallout 4 has not yet been rated by the ESRB. Direct Link to the teaser trailer: http://www.fallout4.com/Nerdist.com, link: http://nerdist.com/fallout-4-officially-coming-to-pc-ps4-xbox-one/has a bit more to say: War never changes…and neither does the unbridled excitement I feel when hearing Ron Perlman’s sweet, surly strains at the beginning of a new Fallout game. After launching a mysterious countdown clock yesterday, Bethesda revealed what everyone knew in the cockles of their hearts to be true, that Fallout 4 is on the way. Don’t take my word for it; watch the trailer above. So many games, so little time.....

Can you go do side quests for awhile?

I also finished the main quest rather early. You should know that there are other quest lines given to you after you`re done, sort of addendum main quests, so it`s worth playing on for a while.
My only complaint about Fallout 3 is that the world wasn`t nearly big enough -- I could have played on, and on, and on, in that blasted, empty world. I think it`s my favourite game setting ever.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Apologies for practicing forum necromancy and raising this chain from the dead You may have already come across this mj2c given the length of time that has passed since your post, but for those members who have not played and would like to give Fall Out 3 a go I wanted to relay some info on the main quest line. As pointed out there are other quests after the main, BUT only if you have the expansion "Broken Steel." If you do not have that expansion and don't want to make the purchase right away then stay away from any quests that deal with finding your character's father or dealing with water purification. Those will lead directly into the main quest line, which as pointed out is quite short and phrasing this in such a way that I don't give out any spoilers, ends in a such a manner that you run out of quests very quickly. So, in the aforementioned case it's best to run side quests or just get out and explore to extend your game play. Then when you have the resources, look into the expansion packs.

Thanks for pointing that out. I bought the game so long ago I had forgotten that I also had the expansion installed. I was so obsessed with this game that I took the time to find EVERY marked location. And...I'll be back.
