I hope that preparing the orders in the kitchen is not essential to completing the game. I'm playing at the Amateur level and I can't make any sense of the directions, even with the help of the Walkthrough. I can usually get about 3 of the 5 orders done, but when I try to do the the other two, they overlap the first ones and cancel them out. This puzzle reminds me of the "Bento Box" puzzle in "The Shadow at Water's Edge". I managed to figure out that puzzle, but this new one has me stymied. I'll keep working at it. I don't really need the tips for spending money, because I can earn money at the Icelandic language machine on the counter. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I could never make much sense of this puzzle either and don't have anything to offer in terms of advice apart from the walkthrough. The game will let you skip an order, though, until you find an easier order to fill, so you could definitely take advantage of that.

This activity is not required in order to complete the game; it is a completely optional way to make money.

There are a few posts from players on the Her Interactive forum offering advice on how to approach these puzzles; if you wish, I can try to find those for you.

Thanks Marian,

I'll keep trying and if I get too frustrated, I'll just proceed with the game. The last ND game I played, Labyrinth of Lies, had serious bug in it that prevented me from finishing it. There was a telephone conversation that was supposed to take place that never happened. I even replayed the game 3 times, following the WT, in both Amateur and Senior levels and I could never get past that point. Disappointing!

Wow, I have never heard of a bug in Labyrinth of Lies before - not one person has reported such a thing either here or on the Her Interactive forums. I would wonder if it was indeed a bug, as these games are not linear - sometimes your game will not be identical to that of the walkthrough's. Just a thought. sherlock
