I've been going along enjoying this game but, alas, now I need a little help. I've linked to the great paintings, looked them over and touched the linking book on the pedestal to the platform. I'm supposed to look through the device. What device? Where is it? I'm getting old so be kind. My brain is not up to snuff.

Midge, when you are through looking at the paintings in the art gallery, use the linking book to go back to Kadish. There are three of those telescope things there, which you have to set properly so that the door leading to the next part of the Age will open.

The settings are fairly tricky

I thought I linked back to the right place but I guess not. Thanks Jenny. I'll try again.

When you use the linking book in the gallery, it takes you back to the place in Kadish where you linked to the gallery from.

Immediately opposite the linking book in Kadish (not in the gallery) is the first 'device'. If you click on it, you will 'look through' it and be able to start setting the device. The other two devices are further on through Kadish.

Now I'm in Eder Kemo and Eder Gira Age. I'm trying to jump to the little ledge in the middle. Um, I'm not having any luck. This poor soul is fried. Any suggestions? I've tried to go by the walkthrough's suggestion but I keep overshooting the mark.

Are you in "run" mode, Midge? Try switching to "walk" and just tap the space bar quickly...

I'm at the end where I have to put the correct symbols at the blue button. I can't do it. I've tried everything. Are the symbols different for everyone? I went back to the cave and copied down the symbols and put them in all possible order and nothing. Oh. I'm so frustrated. To be this close to the end and get stuck. I hate it when that happens.

Just do it.

Oops - sorry, Midge! Are you doing the easter egg, or are you still working on the regular game? (I'm trying to figure out which blue button you're looking at.)

Hello FragmentFour, and welcome to GameBoomers!

I'm pretty sure Midge it talking about the end of the game, where you put the four signs into the imager that causes Yeesha to appear. The blue button is the one in the middle of the imager.

Midge, as far as I know, the symbols are the same in everyone's game. Try these: the Teledahn symbol on top, the Gahreesen symbol at the bottom, the Kadish Tolesa symbol at the left and the Eder Gira symbol at the right...

Midge, I actually think the symbols are different from game to game, although the order that Jenny states is correct. Each time I play the game with a different character I get a different set of symbols.

Note that most symbols have only one correct orientation. The orientation of the symbols in the Bahro cave should help you to work out which one goes at the top, and so forth. You need to make a precise drawing of the whole Bahro cave noting the orientation of each symbol - pointing towards the centre, outside, left, or right. For instance, one looks sort of like a 'comb' with teeth pointing in a particular direction. Make sure in the drawing you do that you get the direction correct. Then when you get to the imager in the Cleft you will probably find that only one orientation of your drawing is possible.

It's a bit hard to describe what to do but I hope that helps!

That's undoubtedly what your problem is, Midge--sorry I didn't realize you weren't aware you could change the orientation of the symbols. Quite a change coming up soon...

I didn't have to change the orientation of any of the symbols, though I was surprised to find that I got a completely different set of symbols the second time I played the game.

In fact, I noticed several subtile differences in the ending when I played it the second time. I won't mention them now, cause I don't want to spoil it for you.

No, sorry - this is so hard to explain.

You can't change the orientation of the symbols. Each symbol, however, is like a letter - there is only one way up that it goes.

So for instance if the symbols were
N
W E
S

if you have drawn them correctly on your sketch diagram in the cave, when you get to the imager you will see that there is only one correct way for the circle of symbols to be entered to have all symbols in the correct orientation. If you rotate the above array 90 degrees clockwise so W is at the top, the symbols would all be lying on their sides and you would know that was wrong. Since the W and E are both unidirectional symbols you would be able to enter them correctly.

I hope that makes things clearer.

Well, I finished the game am now in the expansion part. I'm trying to get the page on the other side of the prison door. I can't find the right way to go back around to the metal walkway that's too high. I've read all the help on the board but when I go down the ladder in the hut it just leads me to the prison again. Where are the slave caverns and how do I reach them> I can't find them.

Just do it.

As for the metal walkway:

If the walkway is too high, the only way to get there initially is by manipulating the doors in the prison, around past the drawbridge, into the area where the journey door is, along past the dock area and finally onto the walkway. You then have to jump up and down near the end of the walkway to make it bend down and sit on top of the mushroom. Walking across the mushroom and up the walkway on the other side brings you close to the solar generator.

You will also need to make sure the drawbridge is completely lowered or it will only work as a one-way gate. After you kick it initially it will be down only halfway. You need to pull the handle to lower it all the way.

Basically there is a lot of running around needed. If you touch the journey cloth near the journey door, once you have revealed the book in the prison you can link back to Relto and then link to that journey cloth to give you a 'short cut' back to the other side of the prison gate.

I'm now in the expansion pack in Kirel in the community room. I've just listened to the message from Dr. Watson and the WT says to locate the controls for the Garden of Lights. Where the heck is it? I've been all over and I can't locate it.

Just do it.

Midge, the Garden of Lights is another name for the Water Garden, and the controls are three buttons (green, blue, and orange) on the railing overlooking the Garden. They turn the different colored lights off and on, and manipulating them in a certain order gives you the Easter Egg...

I'm looking for the Kahlo bar. There's a marker there but I can't find the bar. Where is it?

Midge, in the City, as you go up one of the flights of stairs, on the left side of the landing is a hole with a pile of rubble in it. You can jump down there, and the bar is at the end of the corridor and to the right...

Thanks for the compliments ladies, but they are hardly deserved--I struggle with a perfectly lousy memory, which is a real handicap for a Hints moderator!

And I remember the bar so well because I got stuck down there the first time I went, and almost didn't get out... lol
