Here is a spoiler from the beginning of a walkthrough: You begin your quest standing in the desert. Turn around and walk towards the sign next to the closed fence. Walk around the sign and you'll see some kind of hand sign at the back. Touch the first hand sign and notice that a part of the sign will blink.
Turn around and walk towards the right side of the volcano. Notice that there's a trailer in the distance. Walk towards the trailer and speak with the man in front of the trailer. It turns out to be a guy called Jeff Zandi. Listen to what he has to tell you. If you want to hear his story again just speak to him. If you got stuck you can also ask him for vital clues.
Walk around the trailer and notice another hand sign. Touch the second hand sign and now two parts will blink. Turn around and notice a cleft nearby. Walk passed the cleft into the desert. You'll see something lying around in the distance. Walk to that part of the desert. The first item you'll see is a destroyed telescope you've seen earlier in good old Riven. You can't do anything with it. So walk further into the dessert. Nearby you'll find a skeleton of one of the sea creatures out of Riven. Walk into the head part of the skeleton. You'll discover another hand sign. Touch the third hand sign to activate it. Now walk back to the cleft. Notice the windmill standing near the cleft. Push the big lever and... nothing happens. Hmmm... could have imagined that! See if you can figure out what you might have missed.

You can't move the wind thing until you remove the brake, which you'll find in the caves below

My unsought and unimportant opinion is that URU (Well, the first part)may well be the greatest game ever made. Hang in there a while. It's worth it.
If all the people were heroes, there would be no one to watch the parades.

You could also look thru the video walkthrough's if you are stuck and the written one is not helping. video
Would that I could be the peacemaker in your soul that I might turn the discord and the rivalry of your elements into oneness and melody Gibran

I moved your post to your original Uru thread - make all your posts here and we can follow along with your progress. I'll see if I can find some help for you about this; otherwise, hopefully other players will be able to provide assistance. It looks like it's easy to get lost in this area - can you go back to the house and then try these instructions once you are outside the house? While inside the house, go down to the first floor and open the door by pressing the blue button. Go outside, fall to the gully and again cross to the other side as if going to Yeesha's. On the door you closed will be the sixth Journey Cloth, so touch it. Only one to go.
Fall down to the bottom of the gully, turn to the right and go to the tree. Turn to the right, climb up, climb the small stairs and cross the first bridge, being careful not to fall through the gap at the end. Once across, there is a bucket on a winch and a wooden pedal on the floor.

I think you're good to go; here's the info about the save system again: Unfortunately, there is no way for an user to save the game when he wants to. The game automatically saves any change you make to the Ages, and the Journey Cloths save your position within an Age, enabling you to return to it by linking from Relto. By default the game always loads to Relto Age I'm sure you will get used to the save system after a while.
