Hi Gang, I'm having a total blast dying in this interesting game. I am at a stucked part, tho. My pants wont glow. Yes, I know that sounds weird but in order to time travel my pocket needs to glow & I can't seem to trigger that. I've spoken to the little girl re: the kitten. I've changed the bldg from museum to library & back again so many times you'd think this was the Home & Garden Network. I've scoured the town & collected a full load of green energy crystals. I've started a "tab" at the bar. I've spoken to the only other people I could find (Woman & child in square / girl by bakery). Can anyone tell me how to make my pants glow? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="tongue.gif" /> Or am I wrong in assuming that time travel & glowing pants are related? Can I travel without the glow?

edit: Oops, I guess I should mention what I'm trying to DO. I'm trying to prevent my poisoned food death by reading some book that I can't find. Most doors in the library/museum are locked & I can't go upstairs.

There are things (can't think what they were called) scattered about in the game and you have to collect them before you can time travel. I want to say eggs that glow, but I'm not sure about this.

Yep, I'm all stocked up on the green glowing time travelling battery egg thingies. Can you time travel without the pocket glowing indicating it's "TIME TO GO"? I think I need to get back to the future to fetch the kitten & read the book as the library isn't built yet. It shows "library" on the future map.

In inventory I have: the Squire's Crest, some meat, the alchemist's book, map (new), lighter, time traveling machine (duh), um, um.....I THINK that's it? Do I have to pay my bar tab before I go or something? <img border="0" alt="" title="" src="graemlins/woozy.gif" />

jen -- you've told Brum to build a library in the 1800s... that's good. now you need to get into the library to find the book. however... in the 1800s, he's only just decided to make it a library; he hasn't done it yet. so you have to go back to the present and visit the library there. you SHOULD be able to do this even if your pants aren't glowing (have you tried?)

your pants only start glowing when you've done everything you need to do in the chapter and it's time to get back to the present as quickly as possible. however, you should still be able to jump back and forth between whatever time periods the digipad makes available to you -- even if your pants aren't glowing.

if you've spent a lot of time already, i'd suggest starting this chapter over again (sorry). once you read the book there will be some more stuff you need to do to prevent the death... IIRC, this is a long chapter!

, this was the third time trying this chapter. I kept running out of time & even though I had enough crystals I'd die after like 2 seconds of pants glow. I guess it was trying to tell me to get a move on... to another time. I was under the impression from the manual & the Homuculus, or whatever, that time travel could only occur at certain times & seeing as everything else is so 'glowingly' evident in this game I figured it wasn't possible or was sudden death. Ok, I'll stop explaining myself now... Off to jump without glow. Thx!!!

the glow thing is a little inconsistent in places... just remember that you only die (in the "game over" sense) if the present clock reaches the time of your death before you jump back to the present. other than that, you can jump around as much as you want (or, as much as the digipad will let you). the number of green crystals you have has no bearing on whether or not you die.

have fun! this is a wonderful game... i wish i was playing it again for the first time!
