Anyone have any luck with this game? I can play it on my Windows 7 PC no problem, but not on my new Windows 8 PC.
No matter what I've tried I just wont run. I get an error stating 'ac application' won't start. Anyone run across this?

You tried running it in compatibility mode?

Yes. Tried that first.

I don't see it at Big Fish and even Steam does not sell it as a download anymore.

Big Fish used to have the game, but it was removed, and I don't know what the reason was.

I haven't tried the other two AC games on the new PC yet, I'm expecting the same results. Anyone have Windows 8 and got them to work?

Evil under the Sun is runnning fine on win 8.1. Just installed it and have played to chapter 4.
The picture seems a little bit smaller than I remember, but that might just be my imagination. It have been years since I last played the pc-edition.

I am playing ATTWN on Windows 8.1 now and it is running fine.

Might I ask what you did to get it to run kazzmo?

I did not do anything special. I put the disc in and the game installed and plays.

This is an old game I played on WXP but I am having the same problem with my 8.1 It installs disk 1 w/o a problem but disk 2 installs up to a point and then stalls and there is nothing I can do to make the installation complete. I thought there may be dist a nick or something on disk 2 but it's clean. I wish I could get it to play as I did not finish the game.

How long did you wait?
Sometimes a game continues to install even though the progress bar doesn't keep moving.

Have you tried changing compatibility on the Setup before running the Setup?

No I did not do the compatibility mode because disk 1 installed w/o a problem. I will try that and see what happens.

Is the 2nd disc readable? Try copying the contents to temp folder on your hard drive. If it copies OK then the disc should be good, if not there is a problem with the disc.

I tried burning disc 2 to my hard drive and it did not work. I have a wii system and I found ATTWN for my system so I will just buy it and run it on my wii. I guess I got a bad disc...it happens.

Good news for me, I got the game to run on my old Windows XP. It was a small scratch on disc 2 that prevented it from installing on XP but after I fixed the problem it plays wonderfully. I still do not know why it won't play on 8.1 but as long as I can finish the game I am happy.
