I'm afraid I'm with BrownEyedTigre in that Star Wars has never been a big thing for me. In fact my clearest memory is of having to queue round the block to get into the cinema because my children wanted so much to see the original release !!

I remember liking Star Wars a lot because it was so different than the other movies that were coming out then and because it was just so fun and exciting but the memory that sticks with me was when I went back to see it with a buddy that was home from college. Apparently I didn't talk it up much...no doubt because I didn't want to oversell it. After the movie was over I remember him saying something like, "You didn't tell me it was so exciting! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!"
It's funny Ana, how we have such different reactions. I went to see Annie Hall the same year as Star Wars and that turned me off to Woody Allen so much that I may not have seen even one of his movies since. I know that he has made some movies in the last 38 (has it really been that long?) years that I probably would really enjoy but I just haven't been interested enough to actually watch them.
Bob As I've grown older, I've found that my memory is not as good as I used to think it was.

I went to see the movie the day it opened and loved it so much I saw it 8 more times in the movie theaters. I remember being so impressed when that huge ship passed "overhead" during the intro scene, and the music was thrilling to me. I bought the sound track record soon after and then the VHS when it was released. I also have the enhanced version with additional scenes and characters that came out several years later. Yup. You could say I'm an avid fan.
We don't stop playing because we grow old. We grow old because we stop playing.

I saw the original 3 movies in theaters a couple times each. I've seen the prequels once each from Netflix. Glad I waited, The prequels not worth the cost of the popcorn. I still can't believe that winning whimp turned into Darth Vader.
I could pay $18 for a reserved, reclining, bucket seat to see the new film. I'm not that interested. I'll see it but not for that price.
The prequels did the opposite of what George Lucas probably intended for me. They convinced me that I was right, the jedi are the true villains. They rebelled against a lawfully appointed, democratically elected, chancellor because they didn't like his religion. They didn't even try legal means to removed him. The went right to attempted assassination. And foud years of playing Star Wars: The Old Republic has convinced me that the Jedi are the cause of all the trouble in this galaxy far far away. To quote one of the imperials, right before a jedi knight murdered him "All we've ever done is defend ourselves against republic aggression."
Currently Playing: Adventure Game: Broken Age Darkside: Star Wars: The Old Republic
