I don't remember this ever happening before but the page has been flashing. Oops, it's stopped while typing this. Nope, it did it again and most of the decorations are gone. Anyone know what' going on with my pc?
Thanks. santa

What browser are you using? It's can be caused by add-ons, but we'd need to know which browser you've got.

I don't know about the flashing but I think the decorations have been changed.

I had the same thing. Might be caused by AdBlock.

Adblock Plus does not block the decorations -- not by default anyway (it will let you specifically block an image if you configure it to).

If you have gif animations disabled in your web browser, you won't see the animation and may only see part of the decorations.

This site shows how to turn animations on or off in Firefox and IE
http://www.wikihow.com/Stop-Animated-Images-in-a-Browser

There are also add-ons that specifically toggle gif animations, like this one
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/toggle-animated-gifs/?src=search

So if you ever installed something like the "Toggle animated GIFs" addon, or configured your web browser not to run gif animations because you were tired of having a bunch of stuff dancing around when you were trying to read a webpage, that will also block the twinkling decorations.

I'm so sorry fellow boomers, got busy shopping, etc. and forgot about my post. I think it has stopped but I will check out the Gif issue. It just dawned on me perhaps it's IE because I'm running IE9, can't upgrade because running Vista on this pc. Possible? rolleyes12
Oops, looks like I lied, it just started again!

Try disabling all your add-ons in IE9 and see if that helps.

Hi. Last night I ran Adwcleaner and got rid of some items I was not familiar with, so far the site seems to be ok.

It probably eliminated an add-on in your browser, they can cause all sorts of issues.

Yup... one of the banes of my computer fixing existence. That was why I suggested disabling all your add-ons.

Oh gee, I am having this same problem again for GB. I guess I need to go back and see what I left undone. It's flashing like crazy.

Disable all your browser add-ons first.

The flashing may have something to do with the holiday decorations -- maybe flashing the whole page instead of just the decorations.

Yeah, it was the Christmas decorations before and it was an add-on that was causing it if I remember correctly. I think you got rid of it by running AdwCleaner.

See if this helps - Disable browser add-ons and extensions

I think the flashing has stopped on this pc. Must have been the decorations.

And that's because the decorations are now gone!
