I agree totally with you Mad. I have some computer knowledge but find confused at things at times. I look to this site and their support system, the help we get from Jenny100, InlandAZ and Drac have helped me out immensely! Don't know what I would do without them!!! Well I do! I would have problems!!!! Thank you Jenny100, InlandAZ and Drac for helping us so much!

I always tell my older clients that they should not feel "stupid" about learning to talk about and use their computers. My line to everyone is they might as well be learning to speak Italian or another language! When I talk "computerese" with my son who is an IT tech for a large marketing company, my husband and granddaughter just roll their eyes and she says, "Grandpa, they're talking in computer again!" This is why it is so important to realize that - like Jenny says - everyone has been a newbie at one time and inaccurate information can be so very confusing.
Well, now that we've gotten that out of the way, I'm wondering which anti-virus program kazzmo decided on.

Draclvr, I decided on Bitdefender and so far I am happy. I scan my computer every night with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, I have used it in the past and know it as good. I have saved all the other suggestions I received here at Gameboomers. I think it is nice to have a safe list of other options if I become unhappy with Bitdefender in the future. I do so appreciate all that you , Jenny 100 and InlandAz do to help all of us that are not as knowledgeable about computers and all the terms used. I, for one, depend on you guys greatly and I am very thankful for you. At Gameboomers, if you have any type of problem with your computer or a game, there is always someone here to help you.

I'm so glad to hear you like Bitdefender. I'm thinking that's what I might put on my Windows 7 drive and see how it goes.
I just helped an elderly friend in California use MalwareBytes Anti-Malware to remove 4 instances of a trojan so nasty I found it on an FBI list! Her MalwareBytes Pro had been disabled at some point in time - not sure when. So we got her license information entered and she is back up and running and feeling ever so much safer. She also uses Defender for anti-virus and the Windows firewall.
She had done one of those things Jenny mentioned - simply clicked on the wrong thing that looked like a legitimate request to update her Flash Player. She had so many pieces of malware it took us several days to get rid of it all. She is 91, but very computer literate and even she was fooled.
