Well Steam automatically installed Far Harbor today so I'll be starting the game over with a new character and working my way to the start of the DLC.
Going to try a female this time.

It'll be ages before I start this DLC. I had to stay in a holding pattern to avoid having a level 100 character take on the new quests, so I turned on God mode and built settlements for a month. Now I have a level 57 character with huge settlements and am ready to start seriously doing quests and choose my faction in the main story line.
I wish my character was at a lower level, but I guess there's no mod for that. Anyway. it sounds as though the new area has new enemies, and I seem to be running into Supermutant brutes a lot all of a sudden, so I might find some challenges after all.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Well Witcher 3, Blood and Wine arrived today and I just downloaded it from GOG.
My continued game which I am using (you can go directly into the DLC but I chose to use a save game) has me in the middle of the other DLC, Hearts of Stone, so will finish it up before I get to Blood and Wine.

Oldman, how is it all? I got stuck early in Witcher 2 (the giant Octopus Boss) and never finished it, but with the right incentive I might load it up and get through it so I can play Witcher 3 and the add-ons.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I wasn't too fond of Witcher 2 either, although I did finish it. However Witcher 3 is a whole other ball game. I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I was a big fan of the original Witcher and Witcher 3 is the sequel that Witcher 2 should have been. Blood and Wine, so far is really good and captivating with a fairly long main quest line and several side quests. I highly recommend this game. As far as Fallout 4 Far Harbor I don't think it was worth the money and almost the whole DLC was spent inside this guys memories building boxes etc to break down barriers etc. Hard to explain but needless to say I was disappointed.

Totally agree with you oldman on Witcher 2. It wasn't what I expected it to be, not as engaging as the first in the Series. Just picked up W3: The Wild Hunt and Expansion Pass through GOG and finding it much more fun to play. It will be awhile before I get to either of the FO4 expansions as well Hagatha. My character is at level 45 and I just started building up Sanctuary. I was a little gun shy from the critical errors I had earlier, but looks like the reload took care of most of those issues; fingers crossed.

Oh, good. I thought I was the only person who didn't love Witcher 2.
Normally when I run into a tough boss fight early in a game I tough it out and get past it, but for some reason I just gave up on this one. My Geralt build was just not right for the fight and there was no way I could win without spending an inordinate amount of time. Glad to hear Witcher 3 is better. Maybe I'll just skip to that one instead.
I'm in the middle of the Battle of Bunker Hill. This time I virtually ignored the BOS (yawwwwnnnn) and went straight after the Railroad stuff. Next stop may be Far Harbour just for a change.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Well I finished both Blood and Wine and my continued playthrough of the main story (for the umpteenth time) and I have to say I'm impressed with the add on. Since this is the end of the story for Geralt, they did an outstanding job of closing it out and tying up the loose ends and all questions, at least for me, were answered.
Both the main story line and the final DLC were bitter sweet for me. I was sad to see Geralt say goodbye and will miss the character, although I will be dragging it out sometime in the future for another play through.
I thought the goodbyes said in both the Main quest and Blood and Wine were appropriate and touching.
I've read hints of future continuations of the franchise without Geralt (possibly Ciri?) but that's too far in the future to contemplate. So I will use this post to say a fond farewell to Geralt and all the game playing pleasure he's given me.

Well, then. I'm in for a treat.
I'm still working on Fallout 4, but nearing the end. I have to finish Fallout: New Vegas, which I abandoned half way through, and then I'll be on to other things -- possibly Witcher 3. I plan to play Skyrim again, all the way through this time, next winter (it rains for six months here on the Wet Coast), but that leaves me the summer to play something shorter.
Is it really necessary to play Witcher 2 first from a story perspective? Or can I just hop over to 3 and play 2 some other time with a different build?

Story wise I don't think Witcher 2 adds anything between the basic and Witcher 3. Anything you might possibly want to know from W2 is pretty much explained in W3. In Witcher 2 you learn who killed the king in Witcher 1 and there is some information about the Sorceress' that carries over but doesn't effect the story in W3 all that much

That's good news re Witcher 3, thanks, oldman  I only played a little of Witcher 2 - and then stopped. I didn't think it was shaping up to be anywhere near as good as the first. But now you've definitely piqued my interest for No.3 !!

When I go in to the finished game, with both DLCs pay for, both appear but Blood and Wine says: coming soon, this is PS4 but it is supposed to be launched at the same time as the PC.
