While I found the nag interrupting the weather to be hilarious, I sure hope someone in their tech department got fired for letting that happen. That was REALLY stupid on someone's part - and totally unnecessary.

Might be just a joke on MS re: Win10 push, it was fun to watch. As for MS Pushing Win10, I found that on my computer, my wife's and others that I maintain that MS has not been pushing as hard as they did, one example was when I logged out of Outlook (Hotmail) that there was a Screen Pop up which took my whole screen area, but about 30 days ago they stopped that and all I see now is a small banner at the top of the page, so I think they are slowly getting the message and there has been NO push on any of the computers I deal with to upgrade to W10 Nor any files downloaded on their computers.

Well Mad, either it is a Real sense of humour or a fake one , they have to pretend to laugh at things considering how many National TV Fiascos that happened to them while giving a Demo of their New upcoming product... Do you remember the Win98 fiasco just to name one. And as time goes by even Bill Gates rolled with the punches.. See this video for an example: http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=Bill...3&FORM=VIRE

I would imagine it's pretty easy to be amusing, when you feel like it, if you have the comfort of a fortune behind you such as the one Bill Gates ammassed But in acquiring such fortunes, "ruthlessness" so often plays a part and there's nothing remotely comical about that However, I do respect the philanthropy of Bill Gates in more recent times

At least he's doing something positive with his fortune, unlike some others whom shall remain nameless.
I had to laugh when I got a "bribe" from Microsoft this morning! If you use the Bing search engine, you can accumulate points which can be exchanged for different things. I have gotten at least $50 worth of $5 gift certificates to use at Amazon. They offered 100 extra points per month if you upgraded to Windows 10!

Oh, I upgraded long ago, so I won't get any extra points!

One thing you can be sure of is that Microsoft gives nothing away for free. In some way it would help their bottom line if everyone moved from Windows 7 or 8 to Windows 10. Paul Thurrott's website reported on May 11, 2016 that a preview build of Windows 10 was prematurely released. https://www.thurrott.com/windows/windows...arlier-expectedToward the bottom of this webpage is a note under "Known Issues" that Symantec products (Norton Antivirus and Norton Internet Security) are triggering blue screens, and a few other minor issues. I would not be too happy if updating my OS caused my antivirus to do that, and if Symantec is affected other antivirus might be affected too. Considering that Microsoft forces Windows 10 updates, and an antivirus is considered a necessity by most people, it seems like this should be illegal. I don't believe that Microsoft could not pull an update that would cause BSOD's by interfering with another company's security product.

I'm in no way defending Microsoft , however , Symantec , or any other software vendor , having compatibility issues with Windows 10 are their problems , not Microsoft . Just for the sake of mentioning , I use Comodo Internet Security with Windows 10 , zero issues .

Do you remember when I said: when I logged out of Outlook (Hotmail) that there was a Screen Pop up which took my whole screen area, but about 30 days ago they stopped that and all I see now is a small banner at the top of the page Well MS must be getting Desperate AGAIN, when I log out of Outlook (Hotmail) I once again get Hit with the Full Page screen to upgrade to Win10 + my wife and I get 2 to 3 monthly Updates regarding files to "Prepare Your OS for Future OS upgrades, which of course I eliminate them before doing the MS upgrades, we do have of course the Never 10 installed as a precaution. Jesus X da Bleep da Bleep MS are you doing this on purpose to make people switch to Apple? Did MS Secretly Buy out Apple? Makes one wonder?

I don't think they would push Win10 and forcing people to pay for it... Would they? Nah! You are joking, of course !!!! So I'll laugh along with you

There is NO PLAN to charge for the current free upgrades of Windows 10 if you do it before July 29th!!! You will pay for it when you buy or build a new computer. And yes, if you upgrade after July 29th, you will have to pay for it. There are supposedly some ways to get around that, but I wouldn't count on them working.
Don't listen to the FUD about suddenly getting charged for the free upgrade after July 29th. Microsoft has done some really stupid things, but ever they aren't stupid enough to do that.
And, oldbroad, that's exactlyl right. After the nag - hopefully - stops after July 29th, it will no longer be free! They've made it clear that the free upgrade is available for 1 year and that's it. No surprises there at all.
