I have a few questions. Why do characters stop attacking automatically? My half-giant will now only swing his sword if I click each time. My ranger did the same thing, but is fine now.

Recently, Lothar and my ranger had no weapons equipped, though their portraits showed they were. I solved that by unequipping and re-equipping.

My ranger was firing arrows at an empty corner and would not leave. She joined us later.

The Family Heirloom quest would not complete. We got the sword, but the game did not recognize the fact. I wonder if it is because I did not use the last line of dialogue about hints.

I really want to solve the not-attacking problem. The clicking gets tiresome.

I seem to remember in the upper right corner there was a area where you would decide your groups formation. Perhaps some body was not included or it could be they are dead.
I clearly remember having to let all of the dialogue play threw. I had to restart the game once because I had clicked threw the dialogue too fast. The game would not let me progress as it did't accept I had did what was neassary.
Hope this helps maryjo

I found something similar to what Marian found. Auto Engage

I hope that helps. If not it might be a hot button you are accidentally hitting that is toggling auto attack on/off. I had a problem getting thrown out of a game until I discovered I was accidentally hitting my Windows button. luck

Thanks, I made the change in the menu and now Lothar is attacking automatically. My ranger isn't, but if I click on an enemy she fires continuously. Strange, because it was working without making a change before. It seems to go on and off.

I picked up some quests in Aman'lu and heading out to find Finala. I need a bridge fixed.

Pokey, make sure your attack and defend automations are turned on in your game options. Also, if you’re using the “party invincibility” console code like I am, they might just stand around for a bit till they feel something before retaliating. And yeah, bow-shooters like Deru will sometimes get stuck shooting, constantly, at nothing. What you wanna do is make sure you have a key assigned to the “Stop” command in your key bindings---I like to use the “S” key, cuz, being the first letter of that word, it’s easy to remember. The next time she does that, tap that key, which means “Stop whatever you’re doin’,” and she should cease and desist. I know this seems too trivial to mention, but I always like how, when you find Finala, she’s demurely sitting on that log or whatever. Funny how you like little touches like that.
