It's possible there is already a thread on this but I thought I'd report it. For those who use Firefox, I have been seeing a scam update screen occasionally, in my case when I am on Yahoo's website. It says there is an urgent need to update Firefox and gives you a chance to download. THIS IS A SCAM! Do not download or click. just close out.

If you need to know if Firefox needs to update, click Help in Firefox and select About Firefox. There will be a button to update if there is a newer version.

Thank you, DocPaul. Many people would just click on that link. As you say, the only way Firefox is updated is through Firefox. I avoid Yahoo like the plague as they seem to be more likely to have stuff like that.

Even though you probably don't have any malware, whenever I see something like that I automatically run a scan with my CCleaner to get rid of anything that might be associated with that web page.

Down here in glitches is a good place to post stuff like that as a lot of people read this forum for information even if they don't have problems.

Hi DocPaul, please continue to let us know about such SCAMS, it is good to know and is very helpful, I participate in many Forums and a lot of them are in Technical Forums and the Course of Action when one Reports a Scam or a Malware, etc. the Moderators automatically send these warnings to the Technical section, in the case of this Forum it is called Glitches, Bugs and Patches.
This is a precautionary action and People tend to Pay More Attention when they see it in the Technical section, so your warning will get more attention in this section, regardless if you have a Malware or not, it is to help others to Not Fall into the Scam or Malware trap.

I hope this makes senses, my writing is not the best, I am more a Hands on person who helps people with computer problems in person, so again, please continue to Alert us of any future scams or other malware info.
