I played approx. 15 minutes of the demo. It appears to be a good game, and I plan to purchase it. The music is a bit annoying, but can always be muted. Didn't run across any HOS during the demo.

A little rough around the edges, but worth a coupon code.

After playing for a while, I must say this game is better than I thought. Artwork is very good in most places, but a bit inconsistent. Music is okay, but repetitious. No puzzles and not too many HOS. HOS are pretty straightforward and items are easy to find. Only two choices of difficulty. There's lots of running back and forth, but map is helpful in this regard. So far, a nice long game. Game mechanics are very smooth. Those who like a real challenge would likely not appreciate this game. But I think it's a decent offering from one of the lesser known developers.

I, also, have a comment about this game. I played the demo and purchased the game and have found it to be fun so far. However, I would like to reply to certain people who insult the developer's misspellings (sp?). I would say: how many languages, besides English, do you know? If it weren't for games from other countries, there would be a lot less to play. Please give these people a chance. They are developing games that a lot of people enjoy. Don't be so critical of their spelling/english mistakes.

Just my opinion.

I think that's very kind and thoughtful of you, Laurette, and I do agree with you for the most part. You are right that we would have far fewer games to play if we did not get games from people for whom English is a second language. Imagine us trying to make a hidden object puzzle adventure game in Russian.

However, I will admit that it does bother me a bit when a game is rife with misspelled words, typos, etc., because (for me at least) it makes the game feel unpolished. I don't believe that it isn't because the developers don't care - perhaps they did not have access to a good proofreader. The situation of all developers in this regard isn't the same. What it does make me wish is that they had access to a good editor, but I certainly don't think players should be insulting them.

I also bought the game after trying the demo and it looks promising and as for the Spelling mistakes? What spelling mistakes? Me, I h-am a Frenchman and as far h-as English spelling goes, well... me no judge.

But Marian is right, a good editor or Spell checker would go a long way....

I'm not bothered by misspellings. But sometimes games from other languages don't get translated to English right or maybe they're British English because sometimes I don't know what the hidden object is because I've never heard of the thing.

Anyhow I downloaded the demo to give it a try.

For what its worth, I only buy 3 or 4 games a year. I'm picky. I bought this and find it most enjoyable.

Actually, what I meant to do was offer support for the authors of this game. Apparently there was a previous post that has been removed (?). I just want them to know I will be first in line to buy their next game.

I don't mind the translation issues; they were rather fun. "Something needs to be pushed here" added mystery to an otherwise transparent puzzle. My only major quarrel with the structure was padding by taking away small items after use when I needed something similar later, for example the pocket knife and box cutter. This failing is common to casuals and also occurs routinely in higher end productions.

"The Wisbey Mystery" shows a lot of potential. More attention to story and puzzles is needed.

I must be showing my old old age and imagining things. I THOUGHT the first time I read the posts for this game that someone was complaining about the English usage. After I bought the game and played it for awhile, I just wanted to give support for the developers and say that wasn't an issue for me. I have no idea where I got the impression someone had complained. Just turned 81 4 days ago. You all will just have to view my infrequent posts with an "Oh, no. Here she goes again!" blind eye.

You aren't crazy, joanie. In an earlier post in this thread, Laurette was commenting on the fact that she had seen people elsewhere online complaining about the spelling in the game and insulting the developers, and how wrong she felt it was for them to do that. smile

And a belated birthday to you. It's always nice to hear your opinion on these games. happydance12
